Lots of NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_COLLISION errors, harmless?
Hello all,
I'm attempting to setup a small Windows network using Samba as the PDC
(and the only server involved). Clients are running Windows 7 (x86_64)
and the server is running Debian Squeeze with samba 3.5.6. For now I'm
just using tdmsam as the passwd backend.
The problem I have is that I see lots of errors involving
NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_COLLISION, here's an example at login

Problems with Winbind Idmap and Active Directory 2008 r2
For our Linux Machines (SLES 10) we are using kerberos and LDAP to
authenticate against Active Directory (works perfectly)
Please note that the same configuration works with Windows 2003 Server, the
problem is with with Windows 2008 Server
However we are experiencing problems with winbind for the file share, I see
in the "log.winbind-idmap" logfile the following errors

Permission Issue
Hi,
just to keep you updated:
The following trick seems to work for me:
1.) I stopped winbind on the cluster
2.) I deleted the cache: "net cash flush"
Afterwards the result for "id testuser" was not quite the same like the
result on the "old fileserver"
3.) I stopped the ctdb daemon
4.) I backuped /var/lib/samba/winbindd_cache.tdb on all nodes
5.) I restared

Roaming Profile synchronization errors on new samba server
Hi,
I am running an old CentOS 4 server with samba 3.4.9 and am trying to
move to a new server running Centos 6 and the latest stock samba 3.5.10-125.
Upon trying to switch over to the new server, I noticed that accessing
shares and copying files worked perfectly fine, however upon login off,
the roaming profile fails with error message:
Your roaming profile was not completely synchronized.

Permission Issue
Hi,
yes, I did.
I get the same results with "getent passwd testuser" on each node.
/etc/ctdb/nodes and /etc/ctdb/public_addresses is exactly the same on
each node
On each node sernet-samba/stretch,now 99:4.9.12-15 amd64 is installed
Yes, I read the documentation. It is strange, that another cluster in
another office configured that way is working perfect ;( The load is not
as high

delayed write files errors
Hello,
First of all : Happy New Year to you all :-)
I need your help for a problem.
I've 2 servers on CentOS 7: a Samba DC+AD and a Samba Files Sharing.
In the Samba file sharing server, all data is store in a RAID Disk
partition wich is mounted in /data/ (fstab :

Under Windows each user has

Can Map shares but cannot write
Here is the scenario:
AD-authentication is functioning fine. I can query users and group info
from wbinfo and getent just fine.
The clients can map to the shares, but cannot write to the shares. I have
tried variations of chmod 777 on absolute paths to enable read/write access
to no avail.
The share is configured as such:

comment = Test share
path = /home/share/students

NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_COLLISION error
Hey there,
I'm getting a really weird error when I try to create directories via smb
under some parent directories.
NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_COLLISION
I've been googling it, but everything I find is AD-integration related, and
I'm not using any AD backend. It's running standalone.
So far it only appears to happen in directories that are symlinks to a
"real" directory.

Windows 7 to Samba 4.1.4 in complete copies from CD/DVD
I have a test server setup with Samba 4.1.4. All file interactions test
work except when copying files from a CD or DVD to the samba share on
Windows 7.
I have a CD with a folder that contains 324 files and 22 sub-folders.
Consistently if I drag/drop or copy/paste the folder in Windows Explorer
directly from the CD to the samba share only 53 files and 4 folders get
copied. No error dialogs
