CentOS 4.3 Server spontaneously rebooting (over and over again)
Hi there, This post has also been posted in the Hardware and General forums but I thought it might be wise to post it here as well! My CentOS 4.3 (upgraded from CentOS 4.2 installed from Linux Magazine's April 2006 issue) server is rebooting spontaneously (over and over again). It started while I was copying from USB-device (iPod) to another USB-device (Freecom Portable-Hard-disk) but it

Hi All, Can anyone direct me to a read function in R that will allow me to only read in rows of a text file that begin with a particular value such as the data below. I would read the entire file in and then limit, but the files were constructed such that the first two letters determine how many variables are in the row (different letters mean different numbers of columns and different

samba 3.5.3 time-stamping issue
I'm copying a windows share onto a samba share, with robocopy to preserve filetimes and ACL's, but I get a lot of "ERROR 50 (0x00000032) Time-stamping destination file ..." It seems samba does not like to change the timestamp to the original time. Robocopy uses the option /copyall These lines are from the log > [2010/05/20 11:50:37, 2] smbd/open.c:631(open_file) >

upgrade 3.0.28 to 3.5.3 (SerNet package)
Hi all, I have been upgrading the samba package on a SLES10 (i686) machine with the new SerNet 3.5.3 package. The server is using the ldap backend for users and passwords. It has been working fine until I tried to use a DOS lan manager client. A normal user was not able to "net use * \\server\share" and authenticate using the userid and password. The error message in the smbd.log file
