Failed to start CTDB first time after install
Hi, I am setting up a two node Samba cluster with CTDB in AWS in two different subnets. All IP ports are open between these two subnets. I am initially forming the Samba cluster with one node, then will add the second node after startup of CTDB. I am not using public_addresses for CTDB due to AWS not supporting VIP's. I am using 64bit Amazon Linux with two NICs defined, eth0 as the

Could not find node to take over public address
Hi, we run ctdb with samba on SLES11. It was running for some month ok but after an update of the system and ctdb it fails to run. I tried to setup a new ctdb setup on two other nodes and it still fails with the same error. After startup the status is: > ctdb status > Number of nodes:2 > pnn:0 10.94.43.7 DISABLED > pnn:1 10.94.43.8 DISABLED (THIS NODE) >

CTDB / Samba4. Nodes don't become healthy on first startup
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm trying to bring up a three node cluster using CTDB and SAMBA4 on a GlusterFS clustered file system. The filesystem itself seems to be working just fine, but CTDB doesn't seem happy. If I start a single node up: service ctdb start After about 10 seconds it becomes healthy, starts SAMBA and takes over all 3 IP addresses. However,

When the ctdb is starting, the "Unable to take recovery lock - contention" log will be output all the time. Which cases will the "unable to take lock" errror be output? Thanks! CTDB + InfiniBand Public IP Addresses
Hi, I'm trying to set up a small CTDB cluster running in an IPoIB InfiniBand network. When I try to start up a cluster with a set of public IP addresses, the public addresses do not come online. So, I removed the public address configuration and started a single node up by hand, then tried to add a public address as follows: [root at gp-1-0 ctdb]# ctdb ip Public IPs on node 0 [root at

ctdb_client.c control timed out - banning nodes
Hello, We are using CTDB / Samba to serve a number of windows users, at this point around 1200. We have a 4 node CTDB setup. CTDB version - ctdb-1.0.114.7-1 Samba Version - sernet-samba-4.1.16-10 In recent months we've seen a big problem when 1 of the CTDB nodes is stopped or disconnected either manually or resulting from a problem. On some occasions, all other nodes get banned if a node

WG: HOWTO samba4 centos5.5 named dnsupdate drbd simple failover
centOs5.5/samba4/named here is a short guide setting it up to work. I added TSIG for bind-master amd bind-slave. Update to samba4 alpha13 added (installing git on CentOs 5.5). If you do this howto right now you will start with samba4 alpha13. You do not need the update section. But you need git for your installation because the rsync-thing is broken!!!!!! First of all do not install the bind

CTDB panics when vacuuming serverid.tdb
CTDB Samba Team, I have a two-node cluster successfully running a GFS2 filesystem. I compiled ctdb ver 1.12 with Samba 3.6.3 for 64-bit systems. Running on RHEL 5.7. I was able to add the cluster to the domain but after I restarted CTDB, it panics right after doing a vacuum of the serverid.tdb database. The lock file is on the GFS FS so both nodes can access it. Any ideas as to what
