Samba 3.6.9 on Centos 6.4 and very slow first access to fileserver
Hello good people,
I am fighting with following issue: our users are complaining about very
slow/delayed displaying of main folders during accessing server using
\\dns.name.of.server (using \\IP or \\netbios_name is it with same
slowness). But once they are authenticated, displaying contents of
(sub-)folders are getting normal.

Can anyone assist with the following problem
I am trying to set up a share on a domain controlled by SAMBA that
anyone can access, particularly if they are not part of the domain the

All,
we have a SAMBA server set up that has been working great for everyone in
the corporate office, not to long ago I connected one of our foreigh offices

strange behaviour of smbpasswd after upgrade to samba.3.0.0
Hello,
I have a serious problem after upgrading from samba.2.2.8a -> 3.0.0(1)
We have security = domain in both samba-versions ; for "normal" domain users
nothing has changed , but we need to authenticate external users , who are
not members of our native win2k domain via the smbpasswd mechanism. The user
got a login-screen and authenticated himself via his

Problem with & in domain name.
Hi,
I'm using Samba 2.2.4 and I'm trying to connect via domain level security,
but I'm having problems which I think are due to the fact that the NT
domain contains an ampersand. (I know this is bad, but I inherited it...)
I can add the samba server to the domain with the command:
smbpasswd -j MFP\&MFA -r NTSERVER -Uadministrator

Trusted domains with Samba 3.0alpha21?
Hi there!
I appear to be having problems with trusted domains using 3.0a21.
Using Samba as a member server, as user "nirs" on domain "Exanet-il" I
am unable to log on to a member server ("snow") who is a member of the
"Exanet-qa" domain. The "exanet-qa" is supposed to trust "exanet-il",
and it all worked with 2.2 . This is the relevant

All,
We were running samba4-4.0.0-68.el6_7.rc4.x86_64 on our CentOS 6 box serving printers and joined to our domain. No issues whatsoever and quite happy.
We upgraded to samba4-4.2.10-6.el6_7.x86_64 and have had ongoing issues since it was installed.
Everything runs along just fine for a while (an hour or so) and then our logs start filling with
