unable to join AD domain: Failed to parse cldap reply
I have a suse 10.2 system, that runs the latest samba version, Suse provides for 10.2: 3.0.23d-6 After a long time I had to join that system to an AD domain. Unfortunately that did not work as expected. net ads join -U DE7B07K0@WW901.MYDOM.NET -d4 asks for a password, but then it fails with: ... Hi, I've setup Samba 3.5.6 as a member server in a 2003R2 domain with a single dc, idmapping is by rfc2307 with a tdb backend for builtin accounts etc, I can list users and groups using wbinfo and I can create shares and access them from the windows server, files and folders owned by ad users show the correct user and group names so mapping appears to be working, I can su to ad accounts but I

Samba-3.0.34 can ADS join but not non-ADS join.
I was using Samba-3.0.14a perfectly fine. Now, I'm trying to use Samba-3.0.34. I can do an "ADS" join fine with Samba-3.0.34, but I cannot do my old non-ADS join anymore. Winbindd starts and stays running fine, but when I run net to do the non-ADS join I'm running into a strange "interfaces" issue. It now wants an "interfaces" line in the smb.conf file when

error on ads_startup: No logon servers
Folks, I have set up a samba development server. It is able to let users log in through ldap, it grabs their groups correctly, it gets a kerberos ticket correctly, however it craps out when trying to join to the ADS. I have an already working server with, from what I can tell, the same configuration. When I run the net ads join -d3 (letting it use a previously cached kerberos ticket for

ADS Authentication - CLDAP request failed
I have a RHEL 5 system, with Samba 3.0.33 installed, that _used_ to authenticate against the corporate Active Directory system without any problems. However, about a month ago the connection broke, but the users didn't complain until some time went buy. I've spent quite a few hours trying to reconnect this system, but nothing works. I do not believe it is a simple configuration problem,

Hi, I recently upgraded my servers from 3.0.28 to 3.0.31 trying to solve the winbind issue previously reported (Bug# 5551) but the issue is still happening in my servers. I have an ftp server (vsftpd), configured to use pam_winbind with krb5_auth and I see some random disconnects and my users cant login. My samba servers are member of a Windows 2003 domain. The relevant lines on my

Call timed out: server did not respond...
Hello All, I don't know how, but I managed to get my no logon server found error to go away, but now I am experiencing another problem. When I run "net join ads -d 3" I get the following error message. I know it's authenticating, because if I enter an incorrect password it says "The username or password was not correct." So it's accessing the correct server, but

'winbind use default domain' doesn't appear to work with ntlm_auth
Hi everyone, We just upgraded Samba from 4.4.5 to 4.6.5 and appear to be experiencing a problem with authentication, when the RPC domain is not supplied as part of the username. I have two scenarios where this has cropped up: RADIUS authentication using ntlm_auth Apache HTTP using mod_auth_ntlm_winbind RADIUS authentication: We use the freeRADIUS 'mschap' module to provide
