Troubleshooting on OS X
I've got tinc running happily on a couple linux and win computers, but no luck on OS X. I'm on Yosemite 10.10.5, and I think I followed the OS X tutorial exactly, but no luck. Here's my error message: > sudo tincd -n dpsf -D -d3 tincd 1.0.21 (Feb 3 2015 20:09:36) starting, debug level 3 Could not open /dev/tun0: No such file or directory Terminating And here's the contents

Apple iMac OS X 10.13.5 | Powershield Defender 1200 UPS
I got my USB ups reporting on macOS, but it was quite a while ago, I’ll have to dig into how I did it.. I do remember is wasn’t simple.. ( actually is was long drawn out pain in the …. ) Maybe search for posts from me, I’ll check what I did on the weekend and get back to you.. Or, buy an APC.. as they will just appear in Energy Saver.. > On 6 Jun 2018, at 15:41, Charles Lepple

Here is what I see start after Mac startup if this helps: $ ps aux | grep mysql _mysql 137 0.0

If you didn't reboot since installing the tuntaposx modules, try running the following command: kextload

WEBrick OS X StartupItem?
Is it possible to create a Startup Item for WEBrick? My startup item, named swu, works fine when I run it from the command line, just not when the computer is starting up. I''m wondering if some resources are missing for ruby to load at this point... or something. Here''s output from /var/log/system.log... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Aug 18 21:18:58 localhost

Refresh not working with launchd service provider?
Hi, Refresh doesn''t seem to be working with the launched service provider on OS X Lion (10.7.4). I''ve come up with a simple "service" script, plist file and puppet script to apply to demonstrate. The problem. Here''s the shell script which logs an initial starting message and then just loops logging a "Still running…" message.

Ok did it again from scratch. Hello openssh developers, I had built openssh-4.7p1 on arm-apple-darwin9 platform, but I get this error when I load sshd using launchd: root# launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.openssh.sshd.plist errors on getaddrinfo(): nodename nor servname provided, or not known When I execute sshd directly, I don't get any warnings or error messages, but the sshd is not listening on the intended

Troubleshooting on OS X
I might be able to help with this. Here is an email that I sent to Guus some time ago: >> Having moved onward from setting up a private tinc router-mode mesh on my routers and linux servers, I finally got around to installing and setting tinc up on my mac laptop. When I wanted to set up the mac so it could see my tinc network (but NOT route everything through it, road-warrior style), I

> kextload /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/ I didn't have a /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/ on my machine. I googled around, and downloaded and installed from http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/. Not sure why the macports install didn't work, but it seems I'm making progress. Now I get this: > sudo tincd -n dpsf -D -d3 tincd 1.0.21 (Feb 3 2015 20:09:36) starting, debug level 3

Thanks very much! It's alive! For others who are having problems, this is a summary of the differences I needed between Linux and OS X: You'll need to install http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/ manually. trying to print from windows 98 to mac usb printer using samba
Hello, this is my first post to this list, so if there is another list which might be better, I would appreciate a link. I am trying to print to my wife's printer which is hooked via usb to her powerbook with Mac OS 10.2. Having played with samba for quite awhile I can now view and write to her mac from my windows pc. But I still cannot print. I have enabled all print sharing options in

How do I increase the fd limit on OS X?
Hi All, I just upgraded to the new 1.1rc5 from 1.0 that I had been using and it advised me to increase the file descriptor limit. I'm not sure how to do this. There is a command built into tcsh that allows me to do this called limit, but sudo limit 4224 doesn't work, and usually dovecot is started from the rc.local file if I recall right, and I'm not sure how to set this up from

RSync on Mac
I’m having a heck of a time setting up an RSync server on a mac OS X system. I have run it as a daemon (--daemon) with a configuration file and have created a plist file and put it in the launch directory. Still can’t get a connection. When I run ths ps –E on the system, I don’t see rsync running. Any links to good setup docs? Brad No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by
