about ACL problem after upgrade from 3.0.24 to 3.4.5
Coin, Quoting Quartexx <quartex73 at gmail.com>: > I'm experiencing your same issue. Have you found a fix for this? > Thanks in advance for your reply I downgraded to 3.2.5 to get a working version on the production server, and made a few more tests with 3.4.5. I discovered the ACL bug was linked to the full_audit vfs object, and deactivating it fixed the modification

Again kea DHCP-Server
Well? I?m not convinced KEA can?t be simple DHCP, though I understand that one would never know that from reading the KEA documentation. The following is a complete KEA configuration suitable to do a single subnet. In fact, you could probably get away with slightly less. I?ve replaced the unique addresses from my environment with placeholders (e.g. <network/mask>), but otherwise, this is a

Nut fsd command ignored: bcmxcp_usb driver, Powerware 5105 UPS
Hi I'm having a problem with the bcmxcp_usb driver FSD command: everything seems to work apart from: upsmon -c fsd Environment: Ubuntu 7.04, nut 2.0.5-1, nut-usb 2.0.5-1, Powerware 3105 UPS. upsd appears to send the FSD command to the UPS, upsmon then runs my NOTIFYCMD (which halts my PC) but the UPS just doesn't turn off. Here are the /var/log/daemon.log entries: Jul 24 23:13:16

XP SP2 - winlogon.exe crashes
============== The problem: ============== I am in the testing stages of implementing a Samba domain. My user is logging on to a standard win xp SP2 desktop, with the samba pdc, supplying the credentials. The logon screen disappears and an "SAS window: winlogon.exe - Application Error" box pops up on the Win XP screen. If I click OK the machine reboots. My user can log onto the Debian

ActiveLDAP and variable sub scope object writing
Anyone out there using ActiveLDAP have an idea how I can accomplish creating an object one level below a known base where we have a variable item in the middle? That first sentence doesn''t even make sense to me. Here''s what I want to do: I have a user class that I use for managing users. Each user gets a ou called addressbook (which in turn will contain sub-entries, but

Again kea DHCP-Server
Hi to all, nearly one year ago someone ask about the kea-DHCP support for Samba. In the Samba wiki I still can only find the idc-dhcp stuff. @Rowland will you (and can you) replace or add the setup of kea to the wiki? Would be nice :-) Stefan

asterisk 1.8 SIP register uri: peer field ?
Hello, Looking the asterisk 1.8 API documentation (http://www.asterisk.org/astdocs/api/index.html), I see a lot of new fields for sip register uris: register => [peer?][transport://]user[@domain][:secret[:authuser]]@host[:port][/extension][~expiry] But the *peer* is not explained anywhere. What it is for ? Regards, Guillaume Bour. -- Guillaume Bour<gbour at proformatique.com>

How to use Atxfer in AMI
Hi folks, I repeat "as is" the title of a post someone did a few months ago, since I am facing the same problem and did not see one single answer to his post. Maybe I'll be a little bit more lucky. When I'm trying to issue an Atxfer AMI command, in the asterisk 1.8 branch, what happens is that some DTMF's are sent, like this : [Mar 22 15:46:27] DTMF[5910]: channel.c:3900

Troubles setting up winbind for nt4 style samba domain
I'm getting these errors on starting up winbindd, and I am not sure if this is normal in my situation, I have no trust accounts, I don't deal in AD domains. Can somone tell me if I need to worry about this?: <snip> [2005/07/08 11:23:24, 1] lib/smbldap.c:another_ldap_try(1011) Connection to LDAP server failed for the 15 try! [2005/07/08 11:23:25, 0]

Annoying lpq commands appear after testparm
I am using a master-smb.conf with one other include for the shares file. Every time that I do a testparm -s master-smb.conf and then check the resulting file I see these config directives, which I haven't defined: printing = cups print command = lpq command = %p lprm command = But this is after I have defined "printing = cups", any ideas why? Or is this

Domain Member Server: Domain Users cannot access shares
So it seems that I have identified the source of all of my permissions issues, though I'm unclear as to exactly why these problems have occurred and would love an explanation if anyone can offer one. I was using mdadm to create a RAID 1 array, formatting it ext4 and storing all of the data that samba was serving on /dev/md0. The two drives that make up the array are hosted by an LSI MegaRaid

Urgent, Security: Privilege Escalation in 3.0.24?
Hi list, we have spotted a serious problem with our Samba (Debian version 3.0.24-6) on linux 2.4.31, ext2 with ACLs enabled. We use "hide unreadable = yes" to reduce clutter for our users. Today we noticed that with this option enabled any linux client can access and read *all* directories under the share, even directories that are owned by root and set to 0700. No ACLs are set on the
