Samba/winbind with Active Directory auth
Hi List,
I'm installing a Samba server with the intended purpose of serving files to
Windows users with seamless authentication on the smb server.
For that, I've been reading and following every single google search result
regarding the subject, but it seems I'm stuck at some point where other
people are not blocked ...
To summarize, I have these commands OK:
# kinit admin_user at

troule switching winbind to use a new AD 2008
I have been using 2003 AD servers for winbind for many years, and now
2008 is phasing in, but I can't authenticate using the new servers, and
I'm not sure what to do. All advice very welcome.
This is a problem for me on both Gentoo (samba 3.0.33) and Debian Lenny
(samba 3.0.24).
For debugging, I ran winbind interactively and piped output to a file
(winbindd -d 3 -i).

Has anybody on this list experienced this " \NETLOGON fnum 0xareturned

wasn't happening until our AD admin upgraded the AD servers to windows

I am running 3 ubuntu 8.04 LTSP servers that use Active Directory via

Windows 2008 R2 and now domain users can't log in to these linux boxes.
- wbinfo and getent passwd still return correct information
root can still su to a domain user account

resolve KDC network address error
Hello Samba-List-Users
I have a problem with KDC network name resolution. I tried to google it
and sought help on IRC#samba, to no avail. So I'll post my problem here.
In the spirit of privacy and normalization all server names in this post
are replaced. CAPTIAL server names are actually capitalized in the

Hello
Suddenly yesterday we started getting the message "Delayed write failed"
when we tried to save word/excel file on a samba share. The strangest
thing is that the PDC/fileserver had been working nicely for 3 months
until now. I'd apprecite any suggestions and help.

Error was NT_STATUS_PIPE_DISCONNECTED
Hi,
Does anyone know what this error means?
\NETLOGON fnum 0xc008returned critical error. Error was
NT_STATUS_PIPE_DISCONNECTED
This causes drive mappings to be dropped and is temporarily remedied
by restarting winbind.
I have seen the error referenced in previous posts, but I haven't
seen any responses.
Thanks,
-Chuck

NTLM refuses to work on a DC
Hi there,
I'm trying to get FreeRADIUS to authenticate against my Samba DC. It's
Samba 4.7.6-ubuntu running on Ubuntu 18 (kernel version
4.15.0-66-generic). It came nicely packaged with Zentyal, which provides
a nice GUI for managing a domain, as well as a CA and lots of cool small
features. That same Zentyal also includes support for FreeRADIUS (3.0.16).
This is my smb.conf:
