sudo (+ldap+kerberos) not accepting password
So I have this centos 5.10 box which authenticates network users against ldap(authorizing)+kerberos(authentication). And I now would like to have sudo be able to allow admins (netgroup chinbeards) to sudo about. I am not using sssd though (yet). Here is the output of me trying sudo (debug on): [raub at centos5-x64 ~]$ sudo pwd LDAP Config Summary =================== uri

krb5 library issues when Compiling 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3
I have been trying to configure/compile Samba 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3 with ML-11 and ML-10. The configure issues that I am getting only occur if I use --with-ads. I can run configure on both versions if I do not include ADS support. The errors I get are: checking for krb5_principal_get_realm... no checking for krb5_princ_realm... no configure: WARNING: krb5_mk_req_extended not found in

AIX 5.3 Active Directory Synchronisation using Winbind
I have been trying to get AIX 5.3 ML-11 integrated with MS AD (MS-2003 with SP2 and SFU 3.5). It has given me a few y hairs. I have not been able to get it to function correctly. I have followed various tech articles and installation notes that I have found on the web. They are all basically the same in that they suggest to either compile the required components from scratch or to use the

ldif invalid per syntax
Hello CentOS I am having a bit of trouble importing an ldif into openldap, tho the syntax looks a-ok to me. I am attempting to import my sudoers list into my ldap configuration and I used an application called sudoers2ldif to generate the ldif. I used the following command to import the file: ============================================= [root at bluethundr-desktop:~/txt/ldif ] $:ldapadd -h

sssd_sudo search results different from command line ldapsearch
Hi all! I'm attempting to configure sudo rights from Samba ldap. Alas, libsssd_samba receives 0 rules and config doesn't work. I think I have the problem identified here but I don't understand why. The way sssd_sudo searches for sudoers leave all important attributes out and of course filtering then fails. Can you help me to understand why following search results are so different (and

How to manipulate ldap access rights on Samba 4?
Hi, I'm having hard time getting sssd_sudo to work: when sssd_sudo accesses Samba ldap with host principal 'dc1$@teemu.local' it can't read necessary attributes like objectclass: sudoRole. When accessing as Administrator all attributes are shown. How can I enable other users then Administrator to access sudoers' attributes? Below is an example. [root at dc1 var]# kinit

authentication with winbind+AIX+kerberos
Hi all, Is possible to authenticate users using AIX+WINBIND+KERBEROS without need to create a local user on AIX ? Because we need to permit almost 200users at 20 servers and is not cool creating localusers in all servers. The users are in Active Directory. I follow this link

netbios uses incorrect broadcast value and termintaes
Hi All, I am using samba Version 3.5.4 on AIX 6.1. The installation is through pware binary ( pware53.samba.rte 3.5.4.0). There seems to be a strange issue with NetBios where it terminates with the following error logged just after starting. The diagnosis fails in step 4 of Samba Diagnosis test ("nmblookup -B BIGSERVER __SAMBA_") because no netbios (nmbd) is running. snippet from

Samba ADS on AIX 6.1 TL04
Hi All I'm trying to intergrate samba server with ADS on AIX 6.1 TL04, for last one week, with idmap / winbind but no satisfactory results. I have gone through various links at samba.org relating to winbind, idmapper and followed http://pware.hvcc.edu/ for precompiled binaries and http://pware.hvcc.edu/AIX-Samba.pdf which is for AIX 6.1 TL03 though. I have found the samba which is provided

get older version 3.0.37
Dear all, I have a client who uses Samba 3.0.28 on AIX 5.3 and he is running into problems with the cpu utilization which is 100% caused by one or more smbd processes. I found out that this problem should be solved in version 3.0.37 and want to know if there is a way to get the bff-file of this version. I am not able to compile samba myself on the machine which has the problem and I am

php script to migrate other attributes after running classicupgrade
Hi, I have written a php script to upgrade a fresh s4 AD with more details from a (s3) ldap server. I am no programmer AT ALL, so I guess this is very dirty and un-elegant, but it does the trick. We had multiple "mail" attributes in openldap, and since AD only allows 1 mail attribute, additional mail addresses are migrated to "otherMailbox" AD attributes. Perhaps someone

[LLVMdev] GSoC 2012 Proposal: Python bindings for LLVM
Hello all, Here is my GSoC 2012 proposal: Python bindings for LLVM. Any feedback are welcome! *Title: Python bindings for LLVM* *Abstract: * llvm-py provides Python bindings for LLVM. The latest llvm-py supports bindings with Python 2.x version for LLVM 2.x. This project is to improve llvm-py to make it compatible with both Python 2.x and Python 3 for LLVM 3. *Motivation* LLVM is used as a

failure to import ldif into ldap
Thanks all.. I have read the man of ldif.... your advice has gotten me quite far both in my current implementation and in my overall understanding of LDAP which I am hoping grows with each passing day. In my attempt to build my current directory, I have taken a dump of my last successful implementation (which was created on FreeBSD 8.1) and substituted values for the dc=company and dc=com values

Google's R Style Guide
Perhaps most of you have already seen this? http://google-styleguide.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/google-r-style.html Comments/Critiques? Thanks, Esmail ps: Reminds me of PEP 8 for Python http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0008/ Maybe not that surprising since Python is also one of the main languages used by Google.

[LLVMdev] git Status
The Python language recently migrated from SVN to Mercurial as their version control system. As part of this effort, a detailed migration plan was written: http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0385/ Now, I'm not proposing that we favor using Mercurial over Git*. But I would suggest that perhaps you could use the Python migration plan as a template for LLVM's migration. (*I use both

Difficulty compiling 4.0.0alpha11 on RHEL 5, "Py_ssize_t" undeclared in net.c
Line 59 of samba4.0.0-alpha11/source4/utils/net.c file, at line 59 uses "Py_ssize_t", which was not defined in Python until Python 2.5. This causes havoc trying to compile it on RHEL 5, which uses Python 2.4 and which I cannot recommend upgrading the Python for in a production server environment. (I've tried that: it causes dependency hell in RHEL.) So, I suggest adding this patch
