Open SSH End-of-Life Schedule?
Q: What type of changes, "incompatibilities" do you see, or experience, that would require something like that?
Tomcat: i't s a "platform" where newer technologies (ie. JDK version N+3) could introduce unexpected problems for business apps that runs on that platform to have security for a period.
Postgresql: as new features (ie. logical replication, and partitioning)

CentOS-5 End of Life
Just a message to remind everyone that CentOS-5 has an End of Life date
of March 31, 2017.
This means that there will be no new security updates released by Red
Hat for RHEL-5 after that date.
Sometime in early April, the current 5.11 tree will be moved onto
vault.centos.org (like CentOS-3 and CentOS-4 have been since their EOL).
Thanks,
Johnny Hughes

Centos long end of life support, but im interested in packages themselves.
Hi Guys
Im hoping someone would be so kind to answer my question.
Where I work we are currently reviewing and making use of Centos, because of its long end of life support.
CentOS-6 updates until November 30, 2020
The question I would like to ask is.
Say Centos 6 offers and makes use of PHP 5.3. Say as time goes on PHP themselves deprecate 5.3 and EOL is reached.
Would Centos 6 continue to

Open SSH End-of-Life Schedule?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Just wondering in general if there is a policy, not as any kind of library. Below are more examples from that website of tools, servers and services. It?s possible there still isn?t a timeframe but wondering about general end-of-life expectations even if there have been only cursory discussions.

You mean just thrown away, or archived somewhere? Just thrown away would
seem rather irresponsible...

mount.cfs mount error(13): Permission denied
Hi All,
I am running into an issue mounting a Samba share from our Linux
server. We are running Samba 4.8.8 on CentOS 7.6.1810. I have done a
some testing, and I can't get the root cause of the error.
Testing:
CentOS 7.6 client -> Samba server, mounting fails - mount.cfs mount

CentOS 7.6 client -> Win10 desktop share, mounting works

Samba closing printer prematurely?
Greetings Samba Users,
I have a strange issue. Adobe Reader can't print to a Samba
printer. It would be funny except it is happening to me....
Adobe Reader can't print PDF files to a true Adobe PS3 printer but GhostView can
print PDF files without any problems.
The printer in question is a Ricoh Aficio AP4510.
I tried Samba v3.0.11 and v3.0.20 and I get the same result, no

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED on a directory I have permission to access
Hello,
I am testing Samba 4.9.7 before we upgrade our 4.8 domain member server.
I am running into a weird permission error with our test server. My home
directory is NFS mounted. The problem comes from a mail directory in my
home directory. I can't access it over SMB/CIFS, it gives me a
permission error. From another Linux host that has our home directories
NFS mounted, I can access it

CentOS v4.5 and Intel 965/G33BY chipsets - PATA support
Greetings CentOS users,
I have run into a hardware issue with the Intel 965 chipset. It appears
that the latest kernel doesn't support the Marvell PATA controller. I can
kickstart the computer, but after the OS is installed the DVD drive can't
be accessed.
There are patches against 2.6.18 for the Marvell PATA controller here:

79.00FE error on HP8150DN
For some reason, our HP8150DN printers hang with this error and
require power-cycling after a user tries to print any job from
Windows2000 or NT (including a test page). The Samba server is running
2.2.5 on a Solaris 2.6 box using Sun's printing system. It forwards
all jobs to another Solaris machine that runs LPRng-3.8.2 and
ifhp-3.5.1. I am able to install and use all of our printers
