Cannot join domain with error: ads_connect: No logon servers
Hello All,
I am trying to get a Gentoo Linux system to join a domain run by a Mac
OS X Server. I have set up kerberos and ldap as per the instructions
in the Samba documentation and I am able to log in to the system using
the info (getent finds the users, and kinit successfully connects),
but I can't get Samba to join the domain and authenticate the users.
When I run "net ads join"

Repost: ads_connect: No such file or directory
Hi all,
this seem to bee a kerberos problem. Keep in mind, that the realm at ADS
isn't the server but the Domain. Use kapital letters for the name. Don't use
WebMin for configuration it's adding characters to the config file. Try this
example krb5.conf:
-----------------------
[libdefaults]
default_realm = MOUSE.LOCAL
[realms]
MOUSE.LOCAL = {
default_domain = MOUSE.LOCAL

member server. I have read through google, yahoo, and this list, but I

Hello,
So I've successfully established a two ways interdomain trust
relationship between a SAMBA PDC and a Windows domain. It was working
fine: for example a windows user was able to connect on a share on the
SAMBA server.

net ads join : ads_connect: No logon servers
I've been able to use security = ads in smb.conf, and connect OK,

Here is my krb5.conf:

Getting ads_connect: Strong authentication required when doing ne t ads join
In my lab I successfully got everything working running our secured Active
Directory and Fedora Core 3. In our AD we have secured settings like
refusing NTLMv2, require LDAP signing, SMB signing and more. In the lab we
have the following rpm's:
krb5-workstation-1.3.4.7
samba-3.0.8.0.pre1.3
openldap-2.2.13-2
But now we're implementing this in production and there we're running Red

Getting ads_connect: Strong authentication required whendoing ne t ads join
Yes, this is in fact caused by LDAP server signing requirements set to
"Require Siging". I put a bug in previously here:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=765
And Jeremy Naylor created a patch to add TLS support in libads. The TLS
method is potentially more secure, but it requires a certificate be
installed on the KDC.
You could try applying the patch and setting up the

SV: Getting ads_connect: Strong authentication required w hendoing ne t ads join
Thanks for that interesting information. But how come it works in my lab
(where I'm running Fedora Core 3)? Could it be because I'm running a newer
version of LDAP? You think this will be fixed in future releases without the
need to put certificated on the DC?
Are there any detailinformation where to put the certificate on our DC:s?
Unfourtunately we're not running any CA in our

ADS and samba domain member: ads_connect: Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requ
Thanks,
Unfortunately, I still got the same error. I may be wrong, but it is
like it does the automatic lookup process of kdc instead of using the
krb5.conf file. However, as per my note below, if I do add bad config
info to the krb5.conf, it does complain.

ads_connect: Program lacks support for encryption type
I'm trying to setup here at my school board an ADS domain member to Windows 2000 Server(s). I've setup Samba, configured nsswitch and /etc/krb5.conf. I'll be including them on this post. When I run << net join ADS -U<administrative_user>, I'm prompted for the password and I get this error message:

Hi,

>alfab <- "ABCEDFG" #[1] "ABCEDFG"
>chara <- strsplit(alfab, "") #[1] "A" "B" "C" "E" "D"
>"F" "G"
Then I do some changes before I want the character together again, say,
remove two letters.
Now,
