Why dovecot does not want to read my acl file?
Hi, Simple Scenario: Shared namespace and a specific UNIX group should have access to it. System is Debian lenny (stable). # cat /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf [...] namespace public { separator = . prefix = Shared. location = maildir:/var/mail/shared } mail_executable = /usr/local/sbin/dovecot-imap-fix.sh mail_drop_priv_before_exec = no #just to make sure [...] # dpkg -l | grep dovecot ii

Why deliver+usercheck? deliver+MTA?
Hi, I successfully configured dovecot using virtual users (and LDAP/AD). deliver is the LDA and verifies if the user exists (as recommended in the WIKI). However, the howtos in the Wiki say *nothing* about the case that the recipients should be verified *before* receiving the messages (prevent backscatter, ...). All configurations in the dovecot-Wiki (postfix and exim) just accept the mails

Permissions in shared folders
Hi, On my mail server I want to implement shared folders for each workgroup where there are many workgroups. One way would be to create a separate namespace for each workgroup. However, this does not scale well so I decided to use a single Shared mailbox and use ACLs: namespace public { separator = . prefix = Shared. location = maildir:/var/mail/shared:CONTROL=~/Maildir/shared } Each

Service Winbind stopped, what could be the reason ?
Hello dear Samba users, I recently faced an issue with samba (4.10.4) and winbind. The winbind service was stopped, so no user can acces to my samba share. I restart the winbind service, and all users can access to the share as usually... But I would like to understand why this issue occured. My samba server is a centos 7 linux, configured as domain member to a microsoft AD (windows server

Sieve force SSL
Hi, I have activated only imaps and managesieve. As sieve is running on a different port/protocol: Can I make sure that sieve can ONLY be used with SSL/TLS? As the credentials are transmitted I only offer services with SSL (IMAPS, SMTP over SSL, ...). For sieve I am not sure about this. If there is the possibility that user's credentials are transmitted in plain text I would block the

ldap: LDAP attribute used multiple times. This is currently unsupported
Hi, I have a problem when migrating from dovecot 1.0 to dovecot 1.2 (Debian lenny to Debian squeeze). In my dovecot-ldap.conf I have: user_attrs = homeDirectory=home,uidNumber=uid,gidNumber=gid,uid=system_groups_user I use the last parameter for the groups which I need for shared folders. If I only use this, everything works. However, I also use LDAP as passdb with prefetch: pass_attrs =

dovecot lost mail! Cause?
Hi, After using dovecot for several years now, today happend something which makes me really feel unconfortable: An email received was just not delivered properly, or, is lost! The mail (from an external server) was sent to two local mailboxes, user1 and user2. user1 received the message but for user2, it *magically* disappeared. MTA is exim4 which definitely processed the messages and handed

SASL GSSAPI error "Key table entry not found"
My server and client are running Ubuntu Lucid, libvirt-bin 0.7.5-5ubuntu27, qemu-kvm-0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9 and I'm using virt-viewer-0.0.3-6ubuntu7.xul19 or virt-manager-0.8.2-2ubuntu8 to connect. I configured SASL2 to use GSSAPI for libvirt following the instructions in the libvirt docs, created a keytab with libvirt/my.fully.qualified.domain at MY-REALM.COM (has a dash fwiw) and pointed

Questions about dovecot-shared in 1.2 and inherit group membership from parent mailbox
Hi, I read the Wiki about dovecot-shared a few times but it is not 100% clear to me (at least for 1.2). First, if I want shared keywords I *must* have a dovecot-shared. In this case, the permissions are not taken any longer from the parent folder (what is exactly this parent folder?) but from the dovecot-shared file. So in some sense dovecot-shared is always required (since everyone would

Xen guests clock is exactly 2 hours before dom0 time
Hi list, one and hopefully last strange thing I figured out ist the systime of my guests. Dom0 uses ntp for time syncronisation. I set the time on my guests manually but after reboot any machine (Windows server, XP, Freebsd, even PV Machines like ubuntu) all run local time - 2 hours. /proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is set to 0 so actually the time should be set by dom0...(?) Problems with Samba 3.4 under Opensolaris snv_111b
Hi List, I compiled Samba 3.4 for Opensolaris because the samba SUNWsmba shipped my SFW did not work properly. Now I had to realize, that the Problems are still there so I beleve that it is a common Problem with Solaris (?) I have samba running as PDC with a Sun Directory Server as backend. All Authentication to Unix Clients work well with DSEE but Samba seems so have some trouble:

[LLVMdev] Newbee question: LLVM backend regression tests for thumb1 targets on simulator possible?
Hello, as a newbee, I'd appreciate some support on regression test setup. Specifically, I am interrested in the feature of tail call optimizations for the ARM v6m targets. This feature currently seems to be completely deactivated at the moment (v6m being based on thumb1 ?!). According to my code-reading, this feature will involve some modifications in epilogue generation. My work on a gcc
