cli_nt_create failed on pipe \spoolss. NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
I have a network at my parent's which consists of 4 machines: 1 Linux Samba saver (Fedora 9, Samba 3.2.x) and 3 Windows Vista Home Premium machine. I have point and print set up, and all load the drivers successfully. However, when they try print, nothing happens. Windows said it was successful however - it appears (then vanishes) from the Windows print queue. However, in the samba logs,

Trouble Joining Active Directory
Having trouble getting Samba 3.0.24 on Debian Stable to join an Active Directory domain. I previously thought the problem stemmed from an earlier bug that has been fixed in 3.0.23 that required a user to have full Admin rights. I do not have full admin rights. I do have rights to add machines which I do regularily. Read through Samba ADS Domain Membership. Below is my kinit, smb.conf and debug

Winbind Issue?
Hello, we are having this issue on two of our RHEL 5.2 servers. We have them set up to authenticate to our Windows 2003 domain. Everything works well for a while, but for some reason every few days the winbind service will stop working, this is what we see in the log file: [2009/02/25 04:02:01, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(41) ===============================================================

Samba findsmb and smbtree inconsistent
I have a samba server 3.0.28a set up on ubuntu 8.04, which is accessed by a windows xp client. The windows machine can see and download all the shared folders from the linux machine, and the linux machine can download from the windows machine with smbclient. However, when I issue "findsmb" the linux machine only reports itself, not the windows machine. The man pages show it

Newer SMBTREE versions don't find all systems.
Hi, Trying the latest version again tonight 4.6.7 it has the same problem I've seen with the prior newer versions as well. The one I went back to was 4.4.15 which works. What is happening right now is there is a Win2K3 box that is the domain server, with thecompanydomain.com (NetBIOS domain name: COMPANY). That has the __MSBROWSE__ on it. I have a Linux Wheezy system on that is part of

Slimming down smbtree?
Sorry if these questions are getting tiring, but I want to get the list of servers from "smbtree -NS" from an embedded system (e.g., custom wireless router firmware). Unfortunately, compiling smbtree ends up being a couple of MB large. I've tried a bunch of basic optimizations to shrink the executable size as possible (e.g., using -f{function,data}-sections and --gc-sections,

HP Photosmart C6180 and smbclient (and other unix based smb clients)
Hi, I'm trying to access a share called MEMORY_CARD on an HP Photosmart C6180 from a linux system. Smbclient keeps returning some form of access denied. Strangely enough, the finder application on Mac OS X is able to 'mount' it. I get the same error with smbclient under OS X. Windows has no trouble accessing it through explorer as well as through calls to net use with cmd.
