I'm finding that I also have to have an account in /etc/passwd for the user to get in otherwise I get the message below. In fact it looks now a lot better than the 'ldap filter' one than was deprecated with samba 3.0.20... Is it possible to have a standalone Samba server map different username/password pairs to a single Unix account? More specifically, I'll be using an external passdb (pdb-mysql or LDAP), and each username will only see a home directory with the same name.
