idmap problem
Hi,
I configured a SaMBa PDC and a BDC with a master and a slave OpenLDAP. I set
up TLS, because I wanted secure syncrepl. Slapd runs with -h ldap://
127.0.0.1/ ldaps.///.
I successfully joined an XP client to the servers' domain, I see shares (but
I havent logged in as a domain user, because I have to create a default
profile first).
My problem is in the log.winbindd-idmap log file:

Problem with samba and ldap
Hello and happy new year :)
I have to set up a samba server as a PDC with a openldap backend. My
openldap server is fully functionnal and it is not secured yet (so no
problems with tls). I must use debian etch or lenny.
My server's IP is 192.168.9.10/24. I have set up a dns server (bind9)
for my domain named "mik". It's a local domain for testing only. There

Hi
I've just intalled Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS in order to run Samba/Ldap PDC but
I,ve encountered an error which looks like a bug 3905 that was fixed in samba
3.0.23 according to changelog. I tried two different configuration both ends
in the same moment with an error. first one is exact copy of solution from
chapter 5 from "Samba3 by example". Second

Hi to all!
I've set up Zimbra LDAP (2.4) as master, and I want to use RHEL v5 LDAP

binddn="uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra"

I am a newbie in this list so please be indulgent.
I am actually about running a samba (PDC) with OpenLDAP in Debian. I
installed it (Samba) and configured it, but it didn't still work. Here are
some outputs:

Cannot access share
Running openldap/samba/smbldap-tools/debian etch:
The users can access their home drives and logon.bat maps but not the
share. I can see the share in explorer but prompts for a password when
try to access it. I had them working fine a while back. The only user
that can access the share is admin. The only thing that's happened that
I can think of is that a script changed the whole directory

Cannot access share]
Actually what I've discovered is that the user is able to access the
share and access the shared folders where its a member of it's
respective group. However, I have a weird problem where 1. user
logon.bat does not map shared drive to S: and 2. under the domain
name/server in My Network Places there are the folders in the share as
well as a subfolder called "shared". It

Windows machine has to join two times
Hi,
I'm running a debian lenny machine with samba (3.5.0) and OpenLDAP installed
(2.4.11). When i add a machine to the domain, windows reports the following
error: "The specified computer account could not be found". The computer
account is added to the LDAP database but without the samba attributes. The
weird thing is that if i try it a second the, the samba attributes are added to

comparisons
I converted the 128kbps tom.mp3 file into a .wav and then used oggenc -m 2
to
laterally encode it to 128kbps tommy.ogg format. I noticed that it gets very
close to the size of an mp3, great job guys. Then I got to thinking that
maybe it could be compressed further with gzip so I tried it. I also gzipped
the mp3 to compare and it looks like the mp3 gzips better but gzipping the
ogg file will get

Hi folks,
I''m having trouble getting gems to install rails. It just keeps asking

Any advice?

Hi folks
I allow the user tommy to run this command as root
sudoCommand: /app/appname/connectors/*/*/current/bin/*
With "sudo -l" he sees the sudoers, but is unable to execute.
$ sudo /app/appname/connectors/zur/namename/current/bin/othername

Sorry, user tommy is not allowed to execute
