bit per bit copy! ext3
I have a flash memory stick that is formated with ext3 file system. NOw,
there is an application on it that I would like to copy to another memory
stick. I can copy it, but when I do so, that application does not work
properly (it won't start - boot problem???). Is there a tool that can copy
an entire content from one flash stick to another? Thanks!!!

APC BR1500LCD
Hi gang, I have the
APC BR1500LCD [1]
and would like to know if NUT can handle it. The compatibility list
[2] does not show it but I thought that perhaps it would fit in as
some other unit. Does anyone else have this unit?

Samba question - Out of File Structures
I could do with some help.
We're creating a large number of files from from NT Workstation.
After a while (I think it's 1014 files but it may be 2027), the SAMBA log
reports "Out
of file structure" errors. Below is a cut down version of the log
file. The 1014 number is significant as it appears in the SAMBA log when
SAMBA starts.
I'm guessing it's a Solaris OS limit.

Hi all, I've not been able to find the answer to my timer problem in the faq or the archives. (or google)
Basically, I can't get timers to fire. They fire ignoring the timer value, as if the timer was set to 0. I'm using the OpenFiler distribution, patched to the latest and greatest. upsmon 2.2.2

" ERROR! Out of file structures" with smbd, and Arcserve IT on sm b share
Hi again,
I was previously writing for a problem with Arcserve IT and Samba (with
linux). The connection drops after 15 minutes.
Continuing to understand what's happening, I discovered the following
message in the logs:
[1999/06/01 14:42:08, 0] smbd/files.c:file_new(85)
ERROR! Out of file structures
Immediatly I ran into the samba code to try to understand the cause of the
problem.

nut-2.2.0+linux kernel usb/hiddev bug
-> ups at p34 POWER ALERT on Sat Aug 25 07:40:01 EDT 2007
-> UPS belkin at localhost battery is low
The last good version is 2.0.4, someone e-mailed me from this list before
exactly why this happened it was about ignoring bad events from the
usb-dev subsystem/kernel but I guess my question is this going to get
fixed or should I stick with 2.0.4 as long as I can? Thanks.

Too many open files when using clearcase
FYI:
I'm using samba 2.0.6 for clearcase interoperation between Unix and NT,
and while it works
great 99% of the time, I run into a problem whenever I do a complete build
on an NT system,
which involves compiling ~1500 files. The first 1100 or so are compiled
correctly, but then the following
errors show up on the NT box:
The system cannot open the
device or file specified.

rsync out of memory at 8 MB although ulimit is 512MB
Hello again,
I encountered something amazing. First I thought there is not
enough memory allowed through ulimit. ulimit is now set to
(almost) 512MB but rsync still gets out fo memory at 8MB.
Can anyone tell me why?
That's my configuration:
rsync version 2.6.2
from AIX 5.3 to SuSE Linux 9 (also has rsync 2.6.2)

[PATCH v6 01/76] KVM: SVM: nested: Don't allocate VMCB structures on stack
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de>
Do not allocate a vmcb_control_area and a vmcb_save_area on the stack,
as these structures will become larger with future extenstions of
SVM and thus the svm_set_nested_state() function will become a too large
stack frame.

[LLVMdev] setrlimit vs ulimt
> Why does fork-exec for llvm-symbolizer work, but simple exec(self) does not?
Because the llvm-symbolizer the runtime finds is built for the host
architecture. This is weird, yes, but once we integrate the
symbolizer, it goes away.
> Could we write a ulimit-like utility that would do setrlimit and then
> exec the specified binary
> %run %ulimit -s 8192 %t?
I like that idea. How
