I am not sure whether it is a design decision or just an oversight.
When I ask for the standard errors of the predictions with
predict(budwm.lgt,se=TRUE)
where budwm.lgt is a logistic fit of the budworm data in MASS, I got

coding rules
Dear all,
I am organizing a set of specific R code as package (to ease the
documentation and deployment of it to users).
Before doing so, I would like to know if there are written coding rules
for R (with functions, objects naming convention for example).
Thanks a lot,
Thomas

Performance of Route Hat
Hello guys,
normally, I try to avoid advertising my linux distribution in non-commercial
mailing lists (even though it''s 100% open source), but yesterday''s story amazed
me so much that I simply have to.
What happened yesterday? My largest customer switched from multiplexed DSL-Lines
(copper) to optics, and I did some quick measurements on the performance of
Route Hat.

Only 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 transfer speed of the theorethical
Hi All,
I finally decided to contact you.
This problem bothers me for at least 5 years.
I use Debian Linux-es with 2.6.16 - 2.6.19 kernels.
Our computers on 100 MBit ethernet network. As we connect two windowses
(XPs) they can transfer 9-10 MByte/s. That's the the theoretichal max.
In the past when one side was linux the max speed was 7.5 MByte/s
(This is the 3/4).

Hi.
I've set up Samba 3.0.24d on FreeBSD 6.1 and I have a problem that I can't

Anonymous login successful

I've googled around much and all I've seen on this

Samba WINS Server losing all elections against
Hello everybody.
I've been trying for weeks to find a solution for my problem, but since
I couldn't find anything, here I am.
I manage a network of about 200 PCs, 90% windows XP and Vista, 10% linux.
A samba server is located on the main server, acting as a WINS server,
to manage the list of connected computers.
However, when a resident computer is badly configured (ie no wins server

plotting multivariate data and lm()
Dear list,
I have a problem with plotting multivariate data and models.
I suppose the answer is obvious for experienced users but I didn't find it
looking in usual documentation or in the mail archive...
Let's say I use a dataset like :
a <- sort(round(rnorm(90),3))
niv <- factor(c(rep('B',30), rep('E', 30),

force apply not to drop the dimensions of FUN results ?
Dear R users,
Here is my problem:
I have an array with at least four dimensions:
> dim(myArray)
[1] 20 17 3 6
I'd like to apply a function to each occurrence of the matrix (3x6)
defined by the last two dimensions. This interpolation function always
return a matrix of the same dimensions as its argument:
> interpSecteurs.f(myArray[1, 1, , ])

Guest still receive packet with vlan tag (SR-IOV transparent VLAN)
Hello everyone,
I'm having problem with SR-IOV transparent VLAN.
My host is Fedora 22 and my guest is: pfSense 2.3. The NIC is Intel 82576.
I'm using pfSense Packet Capture to check the packet and find that inbound
packet still have the vlan tag. The outbound packet seem fine because the
router can receive DHCP discover packet from the guest and then send DHCP
offer and ARP request

Quality of Service with VLAN using Traffic Control (tc)
We are using VLAN tagging to put several networks on one machine.
To ensure quality of service on one of the VLANs, we would like to
prioritize (outgoing/egress traffic) one VLAN interface over the other
(or others), but without capping bandwidth on any of the interfaces.
We want to do this while being careful to minimize increases in
latency on the prioritized interface.
Since these are two or

vconfig + Q in Q or ''vlan stacking''
Hello again everyone,
Does anyone know the status of Q in Q or vlan stacking in the linux
kernel?
I''ve tried just adding a vlan on a vlan interface, but the recieving end
seems to just see the inner vlan tag and not the outer one first.
