Perhaps silly question - network browse problems...
Hi folks; This may not even be Samba related, but I'm stumped, so I thought I'd toss this one out here. All the client machines are on 192.168.1.x, all netmasks are configured as /24, etc. I cannot browse the network. I CAN connect to a resource on the server just fine if I specify the full name, but an attempt to bring up the network browser shows the network name (DENNINGER) but

IKEv2/IPSEC "Road Warrior" VPN Tunneling?
Is there a "cookbook" for setting this up? There are examples for setting up a tunnel between two fixed-address networks (e.g. a remote LAN that needs to be "integrated" with a central LAN over IPSec but I can't find anything addressing the other situation -- remote user(s) where the connecting IPs are not known in advance, such as a person with a laptop or smartphone in a

Hi! from 2 days I'm trying to run hylafax server and iaxmodem with Asterisk 1.8.5. I have 2 computers in the lan, one is the Asterisk PBX and the other is the server with hylafax and iaxmodem installed. In Asterisk I set up an IAX trunk in this way: ___________________________ iax.conf [iaxmodem] type=friend context=outgoing-fax disallow=all allow=ulaw username=iaxmodem secret=password

crypto, readline and zlib libraries - Postgres install
I have the 5.x Centos DVD and loaded it. Please be gentle with me, as I'm nominally a FreeBSD kind of guy... :) Anyway, I'm trying to install Postgres and the three libraries in the subject line are missing off the base installation. I figured out how to load gcc using yum, but those libraries aren't there, and I need the former in particular in order to enable SSL for Postgres

Intel Mobo MARVEL RAID adapters and amd64 FreeBSD on QuadCore and i7 series Processors
These show up under Windows XP as if they are SCSI adapters (they're not, obviously.) Has there been any view towards supporting these on FreeBSD? They're on all the recent Intel motherboards for the last year and a half or so. Also, is there any particular benefit (or penalty) to running the amd64 build on Quad-Core or i7-series processors? I have an app that might benefit from

INTERNAL ERROR
Hi all I have got a samba-3.0.13 (hot off the press) PDC running here that also works as a print server printig via cups-1.1.23. As a backend I use openldap-2.2.11 What I get in my log files is what you see below. It seems this only happens when the user prints a *.pdf file. The message shows up once in a while, definetly not for every print job that gets submitted. Printing of those *.pdf

fax server functionality on Asterisk
List, how can I put fax server functionality on Asterisk? * as a reliable fax server for 500-1000 fax/day (mostly incoming)? Fax server should be like HylaFax, i.e. stable, low maintenance and functionality like receiving fax as email with PDF attachment, sending faxes per WHFC. Faxing with spandsp using bri_stuff (BeroNet/Junghanns quadBRI ISDN cards) shortens some faxes, or faxes loose lines,

no charset ver. 3.0.0beta3 on solaris
Hi all This question came up several times in this list in the last couple of weeks, but nobody seems to have found a solution... so I post this again, hoping that anybody out there has the answer. I compiled Samba 3.0.0beta3 on Solaris 9 with the following options: --with-winbind --with-acl-support --with-included-popt --with-pam Starting the daemon or doing testparm gives me always: Error

MFI driver
Hi folks; I have acquired a rackmount Intel server with a RAID card in it that appears to be compatable with the MFI driver. To put it mildly, this thing SMOKES! It is SCREAMING fast. Insane, in fact. Ok, enough supurlatives. Now the question is this - exactly what board(s) will this driver support? Is it only the two that are listed in the hardware release notes? LSI has a number of

samba-tng-alpha-0.14.tar.gz
ftp://samba.org/pub/samba/alpha and mirror sites. finally resolved some of the niggling issues that have kept tng from working: in particular, thanks to karl denninger for helping track down "invalid users = root" in the [global] section which stops root from being able to access anything, including being able to add user accounts! tng is now back where it was about 6 weeks ago: -

Updated patch for 8824?
I don't suppose anybody has an updated CalledID patch for Asterisk 1.4.26: https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=8824 I've been running 1.4.21.1 for a while and have the need to update one of our Asterisk Conference/Faxserver/switches and wanted to see if the patch available would apply. It failed in several places. This keeps me from updating my other installs. Doug -- Ben

Zaptel/Zapata config from T410p to Brooktrout T1
HI, I'm trying to config a span from port 2 of a DIgium T410p to a Brooktrout TR114-P8V-T1 card. I have a T1-PRI from the TELCO in port 1 (thru first port) working just fine with Asterisk 1.0.3 - been working fine for some time now. No problem with dialplan PSTN calls. Now I'd like to "route" specific DID numbers in thru the TELCO T1-PRI and out thru the second port (span) on
