indexes?
Picture: A set of very similar UN*X IMAP servers all NFS-mounting their INBOX area (traditional Unix format) from a common "/var/spool/mail" area; activity for any given user ought to be within one box although this cannot be 100% guaranteed. There is the risk of multiple simultaneous access (e.g. simultaneous LDA/delivers; simultaneous LDA/deliver and user-driven IMAP update; etc.).

Still having touble with Redhat 7.1 and windows 2003 DC authentication.
Hi there I'm still going round in circles trying to get winbindd authentication against a 2003 server working. I have what appears to be the same problem as: http://www.ssite.org/articles/view.aspx?class=2&articleid=2 There's something wrong with the SMB Packet signing on this machine. In parallel, I succcessfully built and have got working samba-devel on FreeBSD 5.1 against the

question about accessing XP login names within smb.conf
I don't want to maintain a list of userids in either Linux, or Samba. Our PDC is a win 2000 box and all the userids are stored on that win 2000 box. I'd like to store the "My Documents" folders on a Samba server and use %U to map each student's "My Documents" to their directory on the Linux machine. This works well in Win 98, but on the XP machine, instead of

missing syslinux details/docs
I'm running into some issues with regard to isolinux and memdisk, and am not sure where to ask/look in the best way possible. These are DOS-related issues. So here goes: * Can MEMDISK map a imagefile (compressed? harddisk?) to more than (and/or beyond) 4GB of memory? Say you'd have 8/16GBGB and want 4GB available to the user so might as well use the other 4/12GB for MEMDISK. Or max

I agree with you on other points, but beware of this one. I've discovered that game logins, notably Blizzard, are case-insensitive. It's quite

Share w/o ask a login
If I wanna make my users connect to a share or printer without providing a log and password, how I do that? I can create a account on the samba server for all my users, but I dont wanna do that, I wanna give them access to the shares even if they put the wrong password, or use a login who isnt in the /etc/passwd of the samba server. Some idea? Thanks!

HPUX - Trusted mode - Successful login time
We run HP-UX 11.00 in "Trusted Mode". This creates and mananges a tcb database for all the users on the system. I have created the attached patch, for openssh-4.3p2, to update the date/time of a successful login. I have tested this patch on several systems here, but I am sure there is a cleaner way to implement the updates into openssh. In a perfect world I would like to update the tcb

Log successful login plain text password
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everyone, I want to use dovecot as a IMAP and POP3 proxy in front of our current E-Mail hosting server to log the plain text passwords of all successful logins for migration reasons. Actually I don't need the password to see in plain text, storing them as SHA256-CRYPT (or something dovecot can use later for auth) hash in a file or DB would be

PATCH: log key fingerprint upon successful login
This patch is against 3.0.2p1. It produces output like the first line in the example below for both v1 and v2 logins. Logging is turned on by sticking ``LogFingerprint yes'' in sshd_conf. It would be nice if something like this would make it into OpenSSH. Dec 4 14:21:09 lizzy.bugworks.com sshd[7774]: [ID 800047 auth.info] Found matching RSA1 key:

Problem with virtual mail user login users uid not permitted
Hello, I am trying to run exim 4.68 and dovecot 1.0.13 on Solaris 10 x86 5/08 using dovecot lda and sieve with virtual users and domains, tls and ssl. At the moment certificates are from my internal CA Exim and Dovecot, dovecot lda and dovecot sieve were downloaded and installed from Blastwave. Mail delivery (ie from Exim to dovecot via dovecot lda) is working correctly but when I try

OpenSSH 7.8p1 drops SSH connection with "Broken Pipe" IMMEDIATELY after successful login
The virtualization is VMware Workstation 12.x, NOT Fusion. Again, I'd like to point that downgrading to 7.7p2 "solved" the issue and that I'm using the same virtualization software for ages (which makes me disbelieve the issue lies with it). I've seen the comment about zero-length passwords... I'm not techie enough to understand the code there (or the technical

pop3-login: auth failure -- due to number as first character in login name
Seem to have found a error in version 1.2.6 regarding usernames having a number as the first character. Customers with a number as the first character in thier user name can not login via pop3 clients. However they can login through our webmail interface. If we remove the number from the username then the customer can login. # 1.2.6: /etc/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.31.12-desktop-3mnb x86_64

Strange behavior when plotting with ggplot2 and lattice
Hi all, I have the following script, which won't plot (tried in RGUI and also in Eclipse StatET): library(ggplot2) # for plotting results userids <- c(1,2,3) for (userid in userids){ qplot(c(1:10), c(1:20)) } print ("end") No plot shows up. If I run the following: library(ggplot2) # for plotting results userids <- c(1,2,3) for (userid in userids){ blabla))) qplot(c(1:10),
