Old question - NT4 BDC in Samba domain?
Hi!
I have to migrate a samba domain to an Active Directory and
therefore I need as first step to have a NT4.0 BDC in my network.
As I don't find an useful answer via google I want to ask you if a
NT4 BDC will work in a Samba PDC enviroment?

nfsclient process stucks in nfsaio [SOLVED]
Hi all,
I believe that this behavior is caused by the ``intr'' (-i) option to
mount_nfs(8). As noted by Stephan Uphoff in PR/79700, he does
not recommend use intr option. After remove the option, the dd
works well.
Sorry for the noisy :-)
However, I think some warnings can be added to mount_nfs(8)
about the usage of intr and its consequence. So this won't be
happened again.

Hi Martin,

no,
root at ctdb-<HOST>:~# ps auxwww | grep smbd
root 13192 0.0 0.0 12780 940 pts/0 S+ 13:05 0:00 grep smbd
There is no smbd, nmbd is running.
Ahh, but the log says:

[LLVMdev] Stuck on linking llc on ARM
Hi all,
I have been stuck on compiling LLVM/Clang (r163485) on pandaboard which has
following configuration,
- Ubuntu 11.04 + 1G Mem + 1G Swap + 32G SD card
- GCC 4.5.2
- GNU gold (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu 2.21.0.20110327) 1.11
The compiling process stucks on linking llc, I am pretty surprised on
this. Anyone has similar issue or any idea? Thanks!
Regards,
chenwj

Windows 7 machine trust accounts expiring
There was an earlier thread about failing trust relationships between
Windows 7 and Samba. Since we occasionally experience the same problem
with Win 7 clients against a Samba 3.5.4 server, I investigated this a
bit further.
I think it happens when
- the time to change the machine password has arrived
- the Win 7 machine is up, but no one is logged on (login box is shown
on the screen).

CTDB node stucks in " ctdb-eventd[13184]: 50.samba: samba not listening on TCP port 445"
Hi everybody,
I just updated my ctdb node from Samba version
4.9.4-SerNet-Debian-11.stretch to Samba version
4.9.8-SerNet-Debian-13.stretch.
After restarting the sernet-samba-ctdbd service the node doesn't come
back and remains in state "UNHEALTHY".
I can find that in the syslog:
May 16 11:25:40 ctdb-lbn1 ctdb-eventd[13184]: 50.samba: samba not

Authenticating Samba 3.4.2 vs WinServer 2008R2
Hello! I'm having an odd issue between Samba and Win2k8R2. We updated
one of our domain controllers to 2k8R2, and as such are working in a
2003-level AD environment. If I force the 'password server' to the 2003
DC, then everything works fine, only working against the 2008 box has
issues.
I'm on a CentOS 5.3 box, and as part of the troubleshooting process
moved up to 3.4.2 from

samba+ldap machine account bug workaround?
Hi.
I've used Samba for years, but just this week I decided to try to figure
out how to use it with LDAP.
I've got everything working to the point that I can now log in on a W98
machine, but not on a W2k .. problem with the machine account. I
understand that there is a bug which has been fixed in 3.0.11, but
Debian/unstable still uses 3.0.10.
Is there a work-around, as in manually
