smbd segfaults when trying to browse printers folder
Greetings,
I just set up another samba server just for serving print queues.
Setting everything worked fine, including point-n-print, until I shut down
the machine and put it in the rack.
Now, if you browse to the box, the printers are listed, and you can
connect to them, print to them, etc. no problem.
If you click on the printers folder in the browse list, however, to view

difficulties in rid mappings in 3.0.25
I use the sernet samba packages on debian sarge and have problems after
upgrading to 3.0.25 with rid mappings.
My rid configuration for 3.0.24 looks like this
idmap backend = rid:ISC=500-100000000
idmap uid = 500-100000000
idmap gid = 500-100000000
after updating to 3.0.25 I get a core dump of winbind (log at the end of
the post) with these settings.
I tried to use the new configuration

Setting up 3.0 to authenticate to AD
After reading through the doc for setting up 3.0beta with ADS, I have gotten
it to work along the lines of the the doc said. I can use wbinfo -g or -u
top get the users and groups, I can use the net user or net group command to
do it as well. I can login with the kinit program, perfectly well as well.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to connect to the linux machine from a Windows

INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 8928 (3.0.23c)
Hello!
It seems my struggle with Samba isn't quite over. My latest problem is
exactly what you see above, followed by an attempt to core dump. This
occurs upon authentication to the system. My system is part of a W2K3
domain. I looked at the Samba HOWTO, but apparently I have a system
(FC5), that doesn't allow core dumps when the PID changes, since no core
dumps are being created.

problem with winbind
Hi,
Since 1 month, I tried without any success to configure Samba.
My problem is that winbind crashes when I list users and groups. And I
think that it is linked to my trusted domains (wbinfo -domain=myADdomain
-u works well).
The error is the following :
[2006/07/11 14:30:29, 3]
libsmb/cliconnect.c:cli_session_setup_spnego(757)

Hi All;
I'm currently trying to expand my Samba env by including my IBM z/800
mainframe running 64 bit RHEL v3.0, CUPS printing environment into Samba.
When I start Samba, the nmbd dies almost immediately. Any insight would
be greatly appreciated.

active connection gets lost in samba version 3.0 beta 3
Hi team,
A Samba "panic" occurs after repeatedly saving "word" files on the server.
Following the panic the "active connection" disappears, but the "active
shares" and "open files" stay.
Windows reports different errors such as "delayed write failed",
"Cannot complete the save due to a file permission error" etc.

Win2k Domain logons
Hi everyone. I just got a copy of Win2k in and have been messing with it.
Have a question, and have searched the archives for the answer, but didn't
find it. Can Win2k domain logon to a pre-3.0.0 samba server? Or di I
need to get TNG running? I can get NT4.0 boxes to authenticate and login
fine (Samba pre-3.0.0), but Win2k keeps complaining:

ignoring malformed3 datagram packet
Hi,
after quite some testing I do now have my Samba4 setup in production
use. The setup mainly consists of an AD-Controller and an AD Member
Server which provides file shares to about 20 Windows 7 clients.
Everything is working well so far except for two somewhat 'special'
clients. For these I observe the following:
1) On the AD Member Server periodically (every hour) appears a message
