Winbind authentication over transitive trusts between multiple W2k3 Domains
Hallo, we use Samba 3.0.22 with MIT Kerberos and winbind on Ubuntu edgy in a Windows2003 ADS enviroment. Everything works fine like kinit, net ads join, getting the Domain accounts from the own and other domains, but one important thing fails - obviously winbind cannot resolve name to sid, when the account is in another domain, where is only a transitive trust, not a direct. Lets say there

SAMBA and Multiple NT or A/D domains...
To whom it may concern, I've been investigating a problem configuring SAMBA 2.0.7 on Solaris servers properly. My basic questions boil down to: * Does 2.0.7 support authentication against *multiple* domain controllers? In the Server.conf file we see line items: [global] netbios name = SAMBA workgroup = NT_DOMAIN password server = NT_PDC, NT_BDC_1, NT_BDC_2 security

Kerberos authentication for multiple upstream domains
I've got some Samba 4, and AD, servers running in the same networks. Their domains and local VLAN's are distinct, but clients can reach either through the local switches. So far, so good. The issue is that I've got systems using local accounts, with Kerberos based authentication, on RHEL 6 clients. There are a stack of reasons not to use the LDAP account or tie the AD or Samba servers

LDAP Authentication with multiple independent domains
Is it possible to authenticate users against multiple independent AD domains? In my dovecot-ldap.conf I entered two hosts: hosts = host1 host 2 auth_bind_userdn = %d\%n ldap_version = 3 base = cn=users,dc=%d,dc=net auth_bind = yes but OpenLDAP seems to stop authentication as soon as the first host succeeds or fails. I also tried to configure trust between the two, but it didn't work either.

CentOS 5.6 - Samba server + Windows error 233
Hi! I have upgraded my servers yesterday to CentOS 5.6 via yum update. Everything went smoothly except that i have client workstations not part of the domain that are not able to access the samba server anymore. The samba server is part of the domain. We recently added Windows 2008 R2 DC. Everything was working smoothly until the CentOS update. I had a Win7 Workstation that i

Hi Marek Thanks a lot for your rebasing work. Here is my report : - all my games that broke with temporaries patch (they were either completely black or lot of black screen flash every frame) behave badly, but in different ways : * etracer is very slow and often crash in ttm code [1] (I think this is an old bug that just resurrected, no idea why) * foobillard is very slow and still flash a bit *

Wine unable to find DX9 / driver version?
I updated wine to latest git (wine-1.1.26-390-g31dab8f) and upgraded my nvidia drivers to 190.18. When I attempted to test some of the DX9 and 10 games I usually test, none of them seem to be able to recognize either my DX version or the drivers. I suspect that the drivers are the issue. Here is a relevant example from a test for Assassins Creed. xavier at xavier-pc

problems with multiple samba servers in 1 domain
HI, I've got a samba server acting as wins server and domain / local master. It has a few shares which can be accessed fine. It is running FreeBSD w/samba 2.0.7. I have another machine running Linux w/2.0.7 that has a couple shares that is also accessed with no problems. I have a third Linux machine w/2.0.7 that just doesn't seem to want to work when I give it a certain netbios alias.

Problems when attempting to build wine from source on Ubuntu
I am trying to build Wine from source on an X64 Hardy Ubuntu system in order to do some regression testing. I am having trouble however to build the dependencies for that. I already did these a while ago, but I re-applied just in case the instructions from this page for the apt repository http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb. I constantly get this error: xavier at Xavier:~$ sudo apt-get

Multiple radio buttons for defining multiple objects?
Hi, I''ve been working on a multiple choice Question/Answer system. The response object (analagous to a lineitem) has a question_id, user_id, and the actual response. What''s a good way of making a form with multiple response objects which are created from the radio_button helper? Right now I''ve got the following code:

multiple comparisons
Hello again R help. This is a simple question perhaps(laughing as I type) with a simple answer. Is the multcomp package appropriate for using with a lme built under the nlme package. I know i can get it to work (i.e report p-values for a tukey test) but i am not unsure if this is appropriate for a linear mixed effects model. Below is the code i used lmm1 <- lme(asinh(density_recruit) ~

AD authentication for local users
Hi We have a lot of Linux development servers (RHEL 5.3, Samba 3.0.33) which are generally accessed via SSH. Each developer has a local account on each box, managed by Puppet. Logins are via private keys only; there are no local passwords. I'd like to run Samba on these boxes and authenticate against our AD domain. I don't want AD authentication for anything besides Samba -- the only
