Hello, I am testing Samba3.0alpha21 using trusted domains. On my network, I have: domain STLO-ADMIN (nt4 server) domain STLO-SMB (samba3.0a server) I want to make a relationship between these 2 domains. So, on my NT4server, I add STLO-SMB in "trusting domains" and on my samba server, I type: net rpc trustdom establish STLO-ADMIN (with the right password of course) then it says:

server vs domain Auth
Hi, I'm having a strange authentication issue. I can authenticate just fine if I use "security = server" and specify any domain controller, but I get a NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED if I try to use "security = domain" . "net lookup dc" only finds 1 DC, which works fine when using "server" security type. I can join successfully with a "net

SAMBA with LDAP - net join fails
Hi, I have performed all the steps from John Tepstra's "Samba-3 by Example" 20 April 2005 to Chapter 5, step 21, pg 146. (My goal is to have SAMBA with LDAP and no MS Windows servers.) Everything appears to work properly to this point. When I perform the command: (amd is the name of this test server) net rpc join -S AMD -U root%not24get I get the error: Could not connect to

Broken upgrade to 5.2
Hello all, I was upgrading a CentOS 5.1 box to 5.2 remotely, and I lost my ssh connection to the server. Now when I rerun the "yum upgrade" it fails due to conflicts in the transaction check stage. Before I dig myself a deeper hole, I think I need advice. The original error I received was a conflict between python-devel and python, so I erased python-devel with the plan to

Wrong samba version in C5.2 updates?
Hi, the latest upstream version of samba rpms for 5.2 is samba-3.0.28-1.el5_2.1. In the Centos 5.2 updates tree there is only samba-3.0.28-0.el5.8 which also is already part of the 5.2 os tree. Could it be that the updates tree just carries the wrong rpms? Best regards, Bernd
