Hi all, Thank you for your help, and sorry for my late answer. Everything works fine by now ! Yes, you have to become a BDC to vampire the accounts ! This is why I was getting an "Access denied" error : I thought my Samba was a BDC, but I forgot to add "domain logon = Yes" in my smb.conf, so Samba was a simple share server. Here is the steps I followed to suck the accounts :

I'm trying to migrate my NT4 PDC to samba. So I currently have a samba 3.0.14a serveur with ldap backend as running BDC. I successfully migrated SAM database with net vampire command. smbclient inconsistant auth issue
trying to get one server to mount.cifs a share on another and when it failed I used smbclient and it lead me into this oddity and I just can't seem to reason my way through. so you can skim better in case this is too much info: the mystery: why does command #3 work from server1 against itself, but fail for all other clients? server1: samba 3.4.7 (Ubuntu 10.04 server), NT4 domain member

Strange error
Hi, I'm getting many errors in samba logfiles on file server, which is NT4 domain member. Centos 5.5, Samba packages from Sernet repo, version 3.5.6-43.el5. Is Samba PDC + NT4 DOM Trust using NTLMv2 possible?
My Question: ------------ Is it possible to get 2-way Interdomain Trust relationships working between a Samba domain and an NT4 SP6a domain, while restricting all password hashes to NTLMv2 only?
