Can someone help me out here? I've recompiled and made changes to the smb.conf to no avail. ~Doug > -----Original Message----- > From: samba-bounces at lists.samba.org > [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org]On Behalf Of Doug Sampson > Sent: Friday, September 04, 2009 12:41 PM > To: 'samba at lists.samba.org' > Subject: [Samba] Samba Panic when attempting to

Samba 3.3.5 problem with hostnames in allow hosts list
Hello, My environment is Solaris 10 with samba 3.3.5 compiled with gcc 4.1 using OpenLDAP libraries 2.4. I use netgroups in the allow hosts directive to enable access to my samba server. This worked in our production version of samba (3.0.28c) but does not in 3.3.5. I've done some debugging and it seems the problem occurs in get_peer_name in lib/util_sock.c This routine always returns

SAMBA 3.3.7 - (SMBntcreateX) NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
I just compiled Samba 3.3.7 on Ubuntu 8.04. I copied the new libnss_winbind.so.2 library under /lib and the ?getent group? command works fine. The ?net use? of the resource is OK. I?m verifying the problem (SMBntcreateX) NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED reported in the log.smbd file when I try to create a folder or to move a file in the samba resource. The same operation on Samba 3.2.14 is OK. Regards,

URGENT: printer problem under 3.3.7
I (cross-)posted a few days ago about TDB files growing for individual printers. These TDB files are holding onto information about previous jobs after they have been printed. This is on AIX 5.3 that was just upgraded from 3.0.31 about 20 days ago. The problem now is we are bumping up against the "max print jobs" of 1000 for some really busy queues. Is there a way to remove this

Samba 3.3.7 Member server not using Ldap
Greetings List, I've got 2 identical Samba Member servers on my domain,of which the global section of the smb.conf is identical. My config file is below: The difference? One's a 64 bit OS the other is 32 (I don't think this is the issue). The 32 bit system runs flawlessly, the 64 bit OS does not and when I execute pdbedit -L it does not return the ldap database

Hello, I've port installed 3.3.7 samba onto the box and was trying to start samba server through '/usr/local/etc/rc.d/samba' with no success (server wouldn't start at all). I've tried running '/usr/local/bin/smdb -D' and server started for few moments before it died. Below are configuration files and log dump with the dump error. What am I doing wrong? [root at

FreeBSD 7.2 and Samba 3.3.7 AD 2003 Authentication Problem
I am having problems upgrading samba 3.0.36 to 3.3.7. I have a working installation of Samba 3.0.36 on FreeBSD 7.2 amd64, configured as a domain member in a 2003 AD, running in native mode. Domain controllers have Services for Unix 3.5 installed and I am using idmap backend with SFU schema mode. I have enclosed my configuration files and compile options further down. When I upgrade to version

iptables starts blocking outbound http traffic
Hello: I have a machine running CentOS 5 x86_64. It is running apache httpd and tomcat. For some reason, after running for a few days, web requests stop responding. It happened again this morning. I check the syslog and see a HUGE number of logs like this: OUTPUT IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=[MyIP] DST=[OutsideIP] LEN=532 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=52669 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=80 DPT=54697 WINDOW=61

Samba 4.1 Member Server and Winbind
Greetings, Peter Ross! > problem solved but part of the mystery remains: > It has to do with the root shell!! Oh? I'm no expert, but I could probably explain it. If you're using statically linked shell (busybox comes to mind), you are locked to whatever libs have been linked in at the compile time. Also re: your previous wonder about library name, it may differ between
