Cannot access HOME folder after upgrading to 4.8 from 4.6
Hello-
I upgraded Samba from 4.6 to 4.8 on a FreeBSD 11.2 server. After the upgrade, users cannot access the HOME folder share but they can access other shares just fine.
I am using the RID backend on this member server that connects to Windows-based domain controllers. I apologize for the lengthy smb4.conf but here it is:

Hi,
I'm running Samba 3.5.6 with OpenLDAP 2.4.23 (from Debian Squeeze) as

Group with RWX acl cannot delete as file/dir owned by user with RWX
Thank you for any help with this:
Using xattr so that I can manage a domain joined Samba server share
with AD permissions. The underlying OS file perms are 777 and I have
set the share with -R a+w to make sure that permissions for owner and
group are the same. Getfacl returns:
# file: deleteme.txt
# owner: root
# group: group_access
user::rwx
group::rwx
group:group_access:rwx

Hi list,
This is my domain enviroment and all DC are windows 2008r2
http://i.imgur.com/8cNOtm2.jpeg
When I used samba-4.0.5, I join my box to domain "HC1" , I got trusted
domain "CHILD2" in "wbinfo -m".
[/share/Public] # wbinfo -m
BUILTIN
MYBOX
HC1
CHILD1
TREEROOT
HC2

Then I upgraded my box to samba-4.4.4, I lost CHILD2 in "wbinfo -m".

POSIX-Share fails with NFS-mounts
Hi there,
I'm sure this must have been discussed before, but I can't find anything that addresses exactly my problem in the archives.
The problem I ran into is, that a samba-share relying on POSIX file-permissions stops working as soon as the shared folder is a NFS-mount itself.
In that case, it is no longer possible for any user to access files or folders.
So in my example, if

Directory Permissions?
Hello,
Running Samba 3.3.10 on FreeBSD 7.3.
Cannot copy a folder with a subfolder and 10 files in the subfolder from
an OSX 10.6.4 client to a folder on the Samba server. What happens is
that the folder gets copied but not the subfolder and its files.

"hide files" doesn't actually hide!
Our server is displaying files that shouldn't be shown such as .DS_Store ._DS_Store among others. Our smb4.conf file contains the following line:
hide files = /_*/:*/.*/.AppleDB/.AppleDouble/.bin/.AppleDesktop/Temporary Items/
thus these files shouldn't be shown.

Problem with POSIX ACL when using SMB2 protocol
Hello,
I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 and Debian Linux with Samba 3.6.7 and I
have problem with ACL permissions. When I set max protocol = SMB2 in
smb.conf I am able to traverse through folder "test" as "user1" even if I
set only read permission for "Others". If I set max protocol = NT1, I
cannot traverse through the same folder as "user1" with the

NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_GROUP
I have an issue where a user cannot connect to a specific
samba group. I've tried connecting directly from Windows, and via
smbclient.
via smbclient I get

Password:
Domain=[EP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.2.5]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_GROUP
Yet an apparently mostly identical share seems to work fine

Can't write to a samba share mounted as an AD user
If I’m not confused though, I believe pisymbol CAN get a mount.
It’s just that the mount has read-only access despite the file ownership and modes being set to give full read-write?
