smb panic when trying to use printer (samba 3.3.11/CentOS5.4)
Hi everyone,
I recently wanted to try Samba 3.3.11 for CentOS 5.4. At first, I
tried the Sernet packages then I compiled my own packages but in both
cases, I get the same error messages (SMB?PANIC) when I try to
install/delete/use printers in Samba. At first, I thought this was a
right issue on filesystem (due to messages "Permission denied" in
logs), so I change many rights at many

Samba 3.2.6 upgrade -> smbd panic in printing.
Hello,
upgraded to Samba 3.2.6, and immediately printing went into coma. Observed
that printers lose their configurations (driver models, locations, etc).
And if I reset the printer drivers on each share, eventually they will be
lost again.
Looking at the logs we are getting panics like this:

Howto Samba and Win2K?
I've got a home network with using win2k pro. Do I need to set Samba up as
a pdc for the w2k machines to connect? Currently I've got my w2k machines
set up as a workgroup and simply set up Samba as a member of that workgroup.
My problem is that I cannot connect to it. I see my samba box in my network
neighborhood, however, I cannot browse it. I'm running Samba 2.2.2 that

smb panic when adding printer with apw
Hi,
I'm using samba 3.3.15 as domain member in an w2k8 ad. We're using the
w2k3/xp add printer wizard to add a printer to the server. Since the
update from 3.2.15 to 3.3.15 the apw fails when clicking on the "finish"
button. At the same time a smb panic occurs and fills the smbd log with
the lines below.

Log file problems
Hello all,
I am having a problem with Samba version 2.0.7 running on Solaris 2.7 and
the way the log files are kept. In my smb.conf file I have "max log size =
2000", "log level = 2" and "log file = /var/opt/samba/log.%U". All of this
works fine and does what one would expect.
With this configuration on a busy system when the log file reaches its max
size and gets

samba ldap?
Samba Ldap experts,
I am trying to recompile samba to support ldap. After compiling samba

compilation. However, after starting up smbd and nmbd, I get these errors
in the log.smbd file when I try to connect to the server:

Out of connections: here too
Hi samba fans,
We run samba on Solaris SunOS 5.8, samba 2.2.2 and are plagued by failing
connections for a while.
We have about 150 people at max usage connecting simultaneous to 1 samba
server, mostly from within Win NT Terminal Server Sessions (this might be
related, as these sessions occur from only from four different IP's namely
our four TS servers)
Symptom:

installing Samba as non-root user at work - please help.
Hi,
I've recently started at a new company that doesn't have a system in place
to map my Linux home directory within Windows. I have my own Linux box (a
recent Redhat install), and my own Windows XP PC. I will get no help from a
system admin here, so my only option is to try installing Samba myself on my
Linux box. To my surprise, I've found little or no information on
installing
