Samba + ldap issues
Hey All
I am having a problems with using openldap and samba. We have been having issues with samba passwords expiring and I have tried several things to resolve the issues. The ldap server was setup using the smbldap-tools. When the password expires the only thing I have been able to do is to reset the password. I have tried the smbldap-usemod -B -1 &username to disable the

LDAP + Samba + Windows2003
Hello All
I am new to the list and have some questions. I want to setup ldap to
authenticate for Samba and Windows 2003 server. I have done a lot of
research and everything seems to indicate that I will need to setup
Samba to be a PDC and have it join the Windows 2003 server domain and
build samba with a ldap backend. Is there another way to do this so as I
will not have to setup samba to be a

bridging two active calls
Can someone give me some direction on how to bridge two calls on an asterisk
server. I'm originating two calls using asterisk java manager and after
some processing in each of the individual dialplans, I want to connect the
calls together.

IAX termination services
Hello,
If I use an IAX termination service to connect outgoing VoIP calls to a PSTN
will I have answer supervision so that my script won't initiate too early?

Very strange permissions issue with Samba 3.0.20(a/b)
Hi Guys,
First, thanks for all the hard work! You all rock.
I am running Samba 3.0.20a on RHEL 3 u5 x86, my configuration is working
perfectly except for cvs commits for 3 users. We are using ADS, pam_winbind, and pam_require to authenticate CVS users against AD.
Our CVS directories are mod 2775, and the group ownership of all dirs is
the AD group "DEN-CVS-Users". Every valid user

security = ADS with libkrb53.
I've been trying to get samba to integrate with a Win2000 ADS, with
very limited success.. but from recent postings I think I have found
my problem. I am only using libkrb 1.2.4. I know I need 1.3.3, but
don't particularly want to compile from source. I'm running a Debian
Stable machine, so was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get a
backport to woody of the newest Kerberos

Samba and Win95 printing problem
I am having some problems setting up the printing for samba and was wondering
if anyone has any ideas.
Samba 1.9.16p11 is running on a SparcStation 20 running SunOS4.1.3_u1.
Accessing the shares, like [homes], is successful. When attempting to
connect to a printer using Win95 with Service Pack 1, an error occurs. The
printer share name, host name, and printcap name are all the same and

poppassd and pam_winbind.so
I thought that I would post this and see what others think.
I wanted a way to authenticate mail users with pass through auth to a
win2k box, so I don't have to add accounts on our mail server, just
the 2k box. But the problem is a way for them to change their password
off-site.
So I've been trying to get poppassd (1.8.4 - current) to work with the
pam_winbind.so module with very limited

changing passwords with pam_winbind.so
>From what I can find in the archives I don't see an answer to this,
plus the keywords are just so common that it makes it impossible to
sift though all the information, so I thought I would ask.
I have a working smb.conf and windbind is working just fine. I am
authentication users to a Win2K machine which is the PDC. The
authentication is working just fine. Its the password changes

Solved (??) Behaviour of integrate (was 'Poisson-lognormal probab ility calculations')
Hi Again,
I think I've solved my problem, but please tell me if you think I'm wrong,
or you can see a better way!
A plot of the integrand showed a very sharp peak, so I was running into the
integrand "feature" mentioned in the note. I resolved it by limiting the
range of integration as shown here:

Unexpected nls behaviour: Solved
Hi Everyone,
I'd omitted the non-optional 'parameters' argument to selfStart. Making this
change to SSbatch gives the same (successful) result from the two calls to
nls.
SSbatch<-selfStart(
model=function(Batch, Coeffs)
{
Coeffs[Batch]
}
,initial=function(mCall, data, LHS)
{
# Estimate coefficients as mean of each batch
xy <- sortedXyData(mCall[["Batch"]],

Behaviour of integrate (was 'Poisson-lognormal probability calcul ations')
Hi again,
Adding further information to my own query, this function gets to the core
of the problem, which I think lies in the behaviour of 'integrate'.

integrand <- function(t, x, meanlog, sdlog) dpois(x,t)*dlnorm(t,

Design and analysis of mixture experiments
Hi,
I'm interested in experimental design and data analysis on mixtures, like
cake recipes where the sum of the components is fixed; e.g.
I can't believe that R doesn't have facilities to design and analyse such
experiments, but I haven't been able to find them (I have looked quite
hard!). Can anyone point

Hi,
I think he's talking about how much a statistical estimator is influenced by extreme datapoints, e.g.

UNC windows path beginning with backslashes: normalizePath bug??
Hi,
Back in June I posted the message below, but had no replies. I've made a
little progress since then so this is to update anyone interested (!) and to
ask for comments.
Brief problem statement:
Under Windows, some parts of R don't handle UNC paths beginning with
backslashes. Specifically
a) Sys.glob() fails to find some files breaking (e.g.) Rcmdr plugins

median by geometric mean -- are we missing what's important?
Folks:
I know this may be overreaching, but are we missing what's important?
WHY do the zeros occur? Are they values less then a known or unknown
LOD? -- and/or is there positive mass on zero? In either case, using
logs to calculate a geometric mean may not make sense. Paraphrasing
Greg Snow, what is the scientific question? What is the model?
Cheers,
Bert

Re: DUNDi .... Halfway and CLUSTERING
Do you mean the peristence of connecting a specific phone to a specific
server? If so, then it's relatively easy. The ldirectord has a persistence
setting that does that. If I'm misunderstanding you, then could you explain
further what you mean?
