Maildir, procmail, and locks
I'm using procmail as the local delivery agent for Maildir style
mailboxes. I discovered that I was able to send mail to other users but
was unable to send mail to myself. Examples from verbose procmail log:

Migration tool for mapped execute bits to EA-based storage for DOS attributes
Hi folks,
All of my shares have been using the map (archive|hidden|system)
smb.conf options to represent the DOS attributes as needed. Recently,
I've wanted to migrate to using the relatively new 'store dos
attributes' method but I did not see a migration mechanism. So, I wrote
one.
I have used it to migrate a few shares to the EA-based DOS attribute
storage and so far it seems to

Problem wit glusterfs-server 3.4
Hi at all!
i'm trying to use glusterfs for the first time and have the following problem:
I want to have two nodes.
On node1 I have a raid1-sytem running in /raid/storage
Both nodes see the other and now I try to create a volume.
While I create the first volume on a fresh system (node1) for the first time, gluster said:

moving public folders to private Trash
Using Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 against dovecot beta9:
If a user has Thunderbird configured to move deleted messages into a Trash folder,
then the user cannot delete folders in a public namespace. There is no problem
deleting messages.
Thunderbird says:
"The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Can't rename
mailbox to another storage type."

minor public folder problem still in v1.0.0
This minor problem still exists in the current version.
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2006-December/018251.html
It's my own fault, I kept meaning to test one of the latest versions before the 1.0
release and never got around to it. Oh well, just mentioning it so it stays on the
list of things to do.
1.0.0 update from RC15 went smoothly here.
Thanks,

smbstatus issue in v4.1
Sorry I should have said in my original post, this server is a NT4 style
domain server.
Looking in /var/log/samba I see log files with the machine names in the
file names, so samba definitely knows the machine names.

Authentication error after authentication query (for Eudora 5.2 on Mac)
Greetings all, I'm a new user of Dovecot and want to say thanks for the
great software.
I am having a problem at the moment. I run a heterogeneous network with
windows and Mac clients logging into a Fedora Linux 2 box running
sendmail and previously UW-IMAP, but now Dovecot. I am using strictly
pop3, plain authentication with mbox format. Every computer in the
network is working fine with

Supplementing Current phone system
Has anyone used * in conjunction with an existing phone system to add
certain features or to expand a department? Currently we have an existing

just handle VoIP services for our remote sales and technical people. We
would like them to act as normal extensions (being able to dial them by
extension from the existing phone

Tracking Open Ports
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to notify or log when a specific remote port is openened? I have an old LDAP server that I am looking to get rid of, but there is still a few queries reaching it.
The sytem authentication is setup correctly (as is Postfix), so I am thinking there must be some script or program that is setup to query the older LDAP server.
I tried using lsof

Changing booted Kernel with grub
Hi,
I have updated the kernel to 2.4.21-27.0.2 on Centos 3.4 (was 3.3 when
I did the kernel update) and have modified grub.conf to use the single
CPU kernel:
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.

Migrating a samba setup to another server
Hi all.
We're doing a major network upgrade, and I'm considering setting up
Samba-3 as a PDC.
The computer I want to install it onto already has Samba-2 running (
just a member of an NT4 domain ), and I *need* to keep it up 24/7 until
I finish the upgrade. Therefore, I'd like to do the install on a
temporary system, set up the PCs in the new domain, and then migrate
everything to

Moving samba PDC to new machine (same name?)
I'm using a tdbsam database with Samba 3.0.11 on a machine that's
getting a little long in the tooth. I'd like to move the whole deal to
a new machine without any reconfiguring on the clients - I'm happy with
a little downtime - out of office hours the system is hardly used
anyway. I'd like to upgrade to 3.0.21c at the same time.
I'm thinking:
