NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED Causes?
Hello,
? I sent a previous message about this case, but I'm guessing I had too
much info.? I'll try to keep it simple.
? I'm looking for ways to further troubleshoot this error:

Joining domain works - logging in doesn't
I'm building a replacement samba 3.5.6 domain controller to replace an
old 3.0 one. Some other things are changing too. Our user accounts are
now in LDAP rather than flat files (although the machine trust accounts
will remain in a flat file), but that should be hidden from samba as
it's going to be done through NSS. The smbpasswd file is a TDB file and
will remain so. Our users

ADS authentication stopped working
Running Samba mostly on Redhat 5 with version 3.5.4-0.83
Also failed on Debian 3.5.6 and Solaris with a 3.5 version.
Logging details here are from Redhat case.
We have a similar problem on all Unix/Linux systems using
ADS as the backend authentication for samba shares on Unix/Linux.
It was working before today and we didn't change anything.
Today, any time we try smbclient or a Windows drive

Domain trust between Samba 3.5.9 and Windows 2008 Active Directory crashes lsass.exe which makes AD Domain Controller reboot
Hi
Trying to set up a one way trust between a 2008 Active Directory domain
and a Samba 3.5.9 server which is configured as a PDC.
There is already an existing trust between AD and an NT4 domain so AD has
been configured to support NTLM authentication (see below for full
details).
With no domain trust, using smbclient either anonymously or with a valid
user on the DC (e.g. Administrator)

Windows ACL modify ability?
I have posted several questions now and have ben unsuccessful in getting any
responses, so i thought i would take a different tack.
I know adjusting permissions on Samba shares, through the Microsoft MMC is
possible when you have POSIX ACL support compiled in your kernel. I don't
think that level of control is necessary for me and short of recompiling the
kernel for that support i have been

winbind sometimes does not resolve sid to a name
Sometimes a group sid does not get resolved to its name.
Is this a settings problem? Looks like winbind deamon
went dormant for a while and then woke up?
I am using interface wbcLookupSid provided by the
library libwbclient.so for resolving sids to names.
These are the winbind related parameters in
/etc/samba/smb.conf

I am using Soalris 2.7 for my SAMBA server). When I try to connect to a share
from the W2K client, I get the message "Access Denied".
I have looked set nmbd / smbd to run at debug level 9

Now certain users complain that they cannot access certain folders, but
