Problem: LDAP as idmap backend
Hi
I've just upgraded Samba on Solaris 10 from the bundled version (3.0.33)
to 3.4.0 and winbind don't want to cooperate with LDAP as idmap backend
anymore.
The smb.conf I use is:
[global]
workgroup = CORPROOT
netbios name = usonfs
security = domain
log level = 10
preferred master = no
bind interfaces only = yes
interfaces = usonfs

Problem: User authentication stopped working
Hi
I have several Samba servers which have been running for almost two
years without any problem.
Recently I rebooted one of those servers and have the following
problem: the join to the domain is OK but all user authentications
fail. I mean nobody can "connect" a share.
The system I rebooted is half of a two node cluster, the other
node with exactly the same configuration, up 230 days,

Q: Client cannot authenticate
Hi
A new setup Windows client fails to authenticate to my Samba server (3.0.24-SerNet-RedHat).
What I see in log at level 10 is:
Got user=[SA-MC-SMSNS@corproot.net] domain=[] workstation=[MSISMSSRV01P] len1=24 len2=122
The empty domain seams to be origin of the problem, for other systems
working OK this field is not empty.
The Windows client is:

Help needed: valid users
Hi
I'm using Samba 3.0.33 on Solaris10 and have the following problem.
In the smb.conf I have
workgroup = CORPROOT
security = domain
and users authenticated to CORPROOT domain can connect shares
w/o problems, [homes] for example.
Now I would like to create a share and restrict access to it just
to a dozen of users or so.
I tried
valid users = +docs
force user = usodocs

Build Environment
To Whom this concerns,
In the process of building the latest stable version of Samba, Samba
3.5.8, while compiling from Source3 an error was thrown when the
compiler tried to create the libnetapi.so.0 file. This build was
attempted on a NetBSD computer. Another attempt at configuring the file
it was observed that when checking for the libnetapi.h it is not found
during the ./configure

image size
Dear useRs,
I'm working in R 2.0.1 for Windows and producing PDF
files with Sweave. I seem to be hitting an image size
ceiling of around 6.8 x 6.8 inches. I would like to
produce taller images to make better use of my A4 page
and have tried:
<<TestMap, fig = TRUE, width = 6.5, height = 8 >>=
par.old(fin = c(6.5, 8))
image(x, etc.)
I get the message:

Hello everyone,
For the context, I'm trying to add support for offline join in WAPT WADS
OS deployment [1]. Currently WADS supports offline join of Windows
computers, and I want to add support for Linux computer using SSSD as a
authentication client (for the persons who might dismiss this mail
because of a certain keywords, yes it is related to sssd, but it
triggers a Samba bug). I also

Errors building 3.6.25 after applying security patches
Hi,
I'm attempting to build 3.6.25 after applying the 16-Dec-2015 and the
12-Apr-2016 patches from samba.org but I'm seeing two issues. First during
autogen.sh I see:
/build/samba/samba-3.6.25/source3 # ./autogen.sh
./autogen.sh: running script/mkversion.sh
./script/mkversion.sh: 'include/version.h' created for Samba("3.6.25")
