Cannot access share
Running openldap/samba/smbldap-tools/debian etch: The users can access their home drives and logon.bat maps but not the share. I can see the share in explorer but prompts for a password when try to access it. I had them working fine a while back. The only user that can access the share is admin. The only thing that's happened that I can think of is that a script changed the whole directory

Cannot access share]
Actually what I've discovered is that the user is able to access the share and access the shared folders where its a member of it's respective group. However, I have a weird problem where 1. user logon.bat does not map shared drive to S: and 2. under the domain name/server in My Network Places there are the folders in the share as well as a subfolder called "shared". LDAP server, too many open files
I've setup an LDAP server with a slave server on Centos 5.3 X86_64, replication works, most of the time client logins work fine but I'm starting to get a error I can't seem to eliminate, it's starting to cause login failures for users and I think it's causing other application failures when they try to auth against ldap. on the client side /var/log/messages shows Oct

reetings List, I am a newbie in this list so please be indulgent. I am actually about running a samba (PDC) with OpenLDAP in Debian. I installed it (Samba) and configured it, but it didn't still work. Here are some outputs: from *net getlocalsid* csiidebian:~# net getlocalsid [2010/03/29 17:57:33, 0] lib/smbldap.c:1086(smbldap_connect_system) failed to bind to server ldap://127.0.0.1 with

smbldap-tools problem with Samba 3.0.1/LDAP 2.1.22/Fedora Core 1
I'm trying to setup a samba PDC/BDC with disconnected auth. and am stuck at step one because I can't get smbldap-tools to work right. First when I do a smbldap-useradd.pl -a test, it works fine. ldapsearch shows the entry properly. Then I try smbldap-usershow.pl or smbldap-userdel.pl or any other one for that matter and they all fail with a "user test does not exist"! Also if I

idmap ldap winbind core dump
My samba machine authenticates logins from our AD domain and stores SID->UID mappings with idmap_ldap. Every couple of days winbind crashes, though not regularly. It's not linked to new users logging into our machine, though it might be new users being added to the domain (I don't control the domain). The core dump seems to indicate an LDAP problem. I found some similar
