Problem with provision of samba4 as domain controller
I'm trying to setup samba4 alpha 8 as a domain controller on fedora core 10.
The compile and install seems to have gone well, but the provision step is
failing:

Windows 7 Samba 3.5.5 and IPC$
Good day.
I have a problem with connecting Samba 3.5.5 and Windows 7. First of
all I have added DomainCompatibilityMode and DNSNameResolutionRequired
to windows registry. After that i tried to connect windows to samba
domain, but without any results. And some time ago I see, that I can't
access Samba shares with right login and password. Windows 7
diagnostik says that It can't find

samba4/Win2008: error -> directory property cannot be found in the cache
I setup a samba4 pdc and successfully added a Windows 2008 machine to
the domain.
When I start up the "Active Directory Users and Computers" tool, I get a
"Naming information cannot be located because: directory property cannot
be found in the cache" error.
I'm running a pretty up to date version of samba4. The head commit is:

FSMO roles
After accidentally destroying my primary DC which held all of the FSMO
roles, I am unable to show any roles, or sieze the naming role. I
initialy tried to sieze --role=all, and it failed, but by doing
them individually I was able to seize them all except for the
naming role. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

User accounts being blocked
James,
I configured the account lockout policies by RSAT, GPEDIT.MSC.
By GPEDIT.MSC I set the value = 10 attempts.
Through the samba-tool, I used this command:
# samba-tool domain passwordsettings set --account-lockout-threshold=11

I've got this error

With this error dynamic entries stopped working as Type A machines that

Cannot find invalid DNS entry
Two files are hosting DNS data:
/path/to/private/sam.ldb.d/DC=DOMAINDNSZONES,DC=blabla.ldb and
/path/to/private/sam.ldb.d/DC=FORESTDNSZONES,DC=blabla.ldb
DNS entries are sometimes (often? always?) base64 encoded. You should be
able to "grep" for string these files with:
ldbsearch --show-binary -H
/path/to/private/sam.ldb.d/DC=FORESTDNSZONES,DC=blabla.ldb | grep "what you
want"

User accounts being blocked
I am fairly sure Samba will ignore GP password policies, but if you set the
policies with the samba tool command, then it should adhere to it, unless
you are running across the bug I mentioned. You would see multiple
badPwdCount increases for one bad password in the logs if you are
experiencing that bug.
