Problem authenticating users from openldap + samba
Hello,
I have a Debian Squeeze server and want to configure Samba + OpenLDAP on it.
Following some documentation I've found over Internet, I see that I
must include the "samba schema" in OpenLDAP but apart from this, I've
installed on the same server a software called "gosa" and it has a samba
schema called "samba3.schema" which I don't know if

(no subject)
Following the "security = domain in Samba 2.x" document in the SWAT
documentation page I do this:
root@pc194-79:/usr/local/samba/bin# smbpasswd -j MDU -r pv-mdu-server1
-Ujohnm%xxxxxxxx
Joined domain MDU.
root@pc194-79:/usr/local/samba/bin#
This is in [globals]:
security = DOMAIN
encrypt passwords = Yes
password server = pv-mdu-server1 pv-mdu-server2
And now I start Samba via smbd

samba 3.5.6 as PDC & LDAP - roaming profile problem
Hi all;
for few weeks I'm trying to implement a new samba PDC server for my school.
It is based on debian squeeze and samba 3.5.6 with lDAP backend.
I was able to join a computer into domain, LDAP is working, mapping home
drive for users also.
It seems that almost all works good but with one exeption. The one thing
which is broken is roaming profile support.
When user is logging into domain

Problem with job removal
Hi,
We've been stuck with this problem for a while now and we believe I tried
enough potential solutions to justify my posting here.
We're using samba 3.0.14a in Sarge in order to allow printing from Windows
workstations (The authentication works with AD+Kerberos+Winbind) to a set of
shared printers. Printing works perfectly but we would like to allow users
to have control over the jobs

Hi all,
I'm trying to combine my LDAP Server (workin Unix authentication) with
SAMBA on an Ubuntu Hardy system.
For now I have a smb.conf and followed the steps in
http://download.gna.org/smbldap-tools/docs/samba-ldap-howto/. I had to

Controlling unix print queues from PC
I'm running Samba 2.0.3 from the pre-built binary
(ftp://sunsite.org.uk/packages/samba/Binary_Packages/solaris/samba-2.0.3
-sunos-4.1.3.tar.Z) on a Sun IPX with SunOS 4.1.3_U1.
I've defined a printer in smb.conf, from a PC (NT 4.0) I can send prints
to it and view the queue OK but I can't manage the queue in any way.

Point n Print, Printer Settings Could Not Be Saved
Looking for some help on this. (like everyone else).
This appears to be a very well asked about problem and the advise is always
the same... Check permissions here and there.
My set up is:
OpenSLP 1.2.1
OpenLDAP 2.4.7
Samba 3.0.28
nss_ldap
CUPS 1.3.5
I've got everything working except the ability to add a "New Driver" from
Windows XP Pro.
Samba is running as a PDC / Domain

Windows 10 and Samba 4.1.17-debian (NT Domain)
OK, then here's the weird part. I have another server, hosting other files,
lets my Windows 10 system connect. The main server won't though. They are
both running Debian Jessie 8.3, and Samba 4.1.17-debian. Below is the
/etc/samba/smb.conf file *that works with Windows 7 and 10*:

netbios name = SAMBA
server string = sss
