Windows 7 client losing trust with domain
Dear Samba, I'm running Samba 3.3.8 and I have a Windows 7 client that was once able to join and log in domain users for a while thanks to http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7. Then after Christmas it's showing "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed" and refusing to log in domain users until I removed and rejoined the domain.

Possible alternate solution to "Trust relationship between this workstation...."
All: On various occasions, some users have posted questions regarding the situation in which their Vista clients are unable to log on to their Samba PDC from their workstations, receiving the "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain has failed" message. Ordinarily, the solution I have seen for this issue is to remove the machine from the domain and rejoin

losing NT4 WAN trust domains with samba-3.0.8+
If I use any of the binary packages for SuSE SLES9 greater than 3.0.7 I can not see some of my NT4 trust domain via winbind. We have 5 regular NT 4 domains that trust each other. Two of them our within our LAN (local subnet), one of these domains the samba machine is within ... security = domain. There's another 5 domains that are setup for our AD enviroment for exchange, mixed mode. Using

After some time 4.3.9 Member Server in different Subnet than ADS controller loses trust
Hai Thomas.   Its not that hard to get a good 4.4.3. here is how to do this. And is really easy, as long you dont run into compile problems. I’ve tested below in debian jessie, and should work on ubuntu also.   The short/simple rebuild a samba version from debian jessie to ubuntu.   ## 1 ## Get the packages needed for a rebuild. sudo apt-get install -y --no-install-recommends

Losing registration - ast 1.4.39 and innomedia 6328-2Re
All, I'm having a problem with an Innomedia 6328-2Re (old Sunrocket Gizmo). It keeps losing registration after a period of time ranging from a few minutes to a few hours. It seems that right before it loses registration, it fails to send a second register (after the 401 unauthorized). Here's a transcript from wireshark (at the end). The last message is all that's received and

Mounting samba volume by IP fails trust in AD
Hi. I've got some samba servers (3.0.33-3.29.el5_6.2, on redhat 5) that join a windows 2003 AD. When mounting the volume from a windows workstation, if I use \\ip.address.here it fails saying "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed'" If I mount with \\fully.qualified.name it works just fine. Forward and reverse DNS match, and

Windows clients losing connection to Samba 3.0.27 PDC on FC7 i386
Hello all... I have a site of about 50 pcs connected to a Samba domain controller. The domain has been running flawlessly for several years through several upgrades, and the last one (From Fedora Core 4/ Samba 3.0.23a to FC7/ Samba 3.0.27) seems to have caused something to come unglued. The Workstations are periodically booting up in the morning and being unable to contact the domain controller.

Hi, I upgraded my PDC from 3.0.34 to 3.3.4. Phone losing IP address for a few seconds but doesn't drop call
Hi, Recently I've noticed on a customer's GXP-2000 phone that it loses its IP addresse for a few seconds, audio goes blank obviously, and after about 30-60 seconds get the same IP addresse back and resumes the call. This shows that call was not dropped but phone lost connection with the server, whereas the caller on the other end was still talking. This is just unacceptable as this is

Samba issues with UID mappings
Hi all. Need some assistance with a problem. I will describe our setup and whats been happening. For over a year we've been using samba and winbind with pam on Linux servers to join a windows Domain. Pretty standard, no entries in /etc/passwd or smbpasswd. We just create the username on the Windows domain, and using the pam mkhomedir module, whenever someone logs in for the first time

Delete machine account from AD to fix The trust relationship
Hai, Thanks for the reply. For the fix, i believe, there is work in progress for that as far i've seen. But i think Rowland knows this better. An other other options is rejoin again, but often only works if the "computer" password was expired and not updated. Then an simple rejoin works also. If this happens, ( i had this about 3 times ). 1) try a simple rejoin from windows

Samba corruption of ADS authentication details?
Hi there Our environment: Samba (via winbind) as ADS members of a Windows 2K3-based forest. We've had long-term issues with Samba "losing" access to particular users details for as long as I can remember. Every once and a while a user will report they cannot connect to a Samba share, and looking into it we'd discover the user is showing up in the logs as "no such
