Samba 3.0.10 as a PDC
Hi, I'm trying to get Samba to act as the PDC for a domain populated by Win2k boxen. All the machines are running Windows 2000 Professional. Unfortunately, the 2k boxen all produce this error when I try and log in as a normal user: Windows cannot log you on because the profile cannot be loaded. Contact your network administrator REASON - Access is denied. Here's my smb.conf: [

Vorbis with SDL_mixer and mingw32
Hi, I've been trying to build a copy of libSDL_mixer under mingw32. The compile/link stage goes OK, but if I try and load an application that's been linked against SDL_mixer, I get a Windows error box with the following text: mixer1.exe: entry point not found The procedure entry point vorbis_synthesis_halfrate could not be located in the dynamic link library vorbis.dll. [OT]: Stupid mistake
Hi, I've just managed to completely nuke most of my Mailing Lists folders in Outlook - will someone using Outlook Express (or similar) please export all the Vorbis-Dev messages from the 6th of June 2001 onwards(starting with "[vorbis-dev] problem with vorbis autoconf stuff" by Bill Nottingham) and e-mail me them (send them in a ZIP file if they're over a few hundred Kbytes)?

Ogg Vorbis, DirectSound and Delphi
Hi, I've just downloaded the Ogg Vorbis source, LIB and DLL files from www.xiph.org and I've been trying to get them working in Borland Delphi 3 Pro. Has anyone managed to get OV to decode and play an OGG file using Delphi? Ideally I'd like to use DirectSound (part of DirectX), via the UnDelphiX (DelphiX with the JEDI headers) components. Also, if I choose to sell a

Intermittently stalling PAM authentication children
Hi, we encounter a problem using PAM with privsep to manage OPIE authentication : in some -- not really reproducible -- cases, the child responsible of PAM authentication stalls and continues to run even if its parent has been closed. The server is the standard RHEL 4 install, which is a 3.9p1 with backported security patches As this children account for the 'MaxStartups' limit, new

File transfers to Windows XP x64 stalling and dying after a few minutes.
I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Professional x64 on my primary machine, and am reconnecting all of my LAN services. One thing I have on my home network is a dedicated file server, running Ubuntu and Samba, used as a general file server, as well as a backup for when I reformatted my main system. While attempting to restore some of my files, I started noticing some odd errors. After a

Virtual network using ssh tunneling on Windows 2K/XP. Please help.
Hi, I'm trying to connect to a samba server via an ssh tunnel. I'm running ssh on my W2K machine. If I try to connect from another machine that is running an OS called RiscOS and a NetBIOS client called LanMan98 then it works perfectly, but if I try to connect from the another Windows machine running XP, or from the W2k machine (uisng loopback), I get "Windows cannot find

File transfers to Windows XP x64 stalling and dying after a few minutes. [SOLVED]
just wanted to post to the list that i just had a very very similar issue to Geoff's but in this case the client OS (using samba as a file server) was Windows Server 2003 x64 R2 SP1 and the samba version was 3.0.24. After much googling and config trial-and-error, i found that upgrading to the recently-released Windows Server 2003 SP2 alleviated my problem. I also corresponded with Geoff

Win2K Client Intermittent Connections
We recently upgraded our main file server from a PIII to a P4 with raid as well as did a fresh install of RedHat 9 leaving the old server intact. Most everything went well, I copied all the config files over for the different services and got samba running successfully. I tested connecting to from different win boxes using 98, 98SE, NT4, and 2K, they all were able to browse files and print

IAXy intermittent sound problem
I have somewhat miraculously got my server to stay up for over 24 hours now. I was at my remote location, however, and I can't make calls that used to work find. I get the following messages. I get a brief bit of good sound and about the time I see the message "Ooh, voice format changed to 4" all further sound stops. The machine seems to be stalling, but I have noload on both oss

Weird stalling of playback on IAX2 channels on 1.8 svn
I've hit an odd issue in a test 1.8 deployment, playback() stalls mid file. The call stays up, but asterisk stops sending packets. It doesn't always happen - but on demo-congrats it happens about half the time. It only happens in IAX calls. Anyone else experienced it ? (I filed an issue just in case it isn't just me) T. (CYGWIN) Rsync Stalling Upon first file transfer.
Rsync will recieve the file list, and discover the files to consider, and then stalls out on the first actual file transfered. 0 bytes 0kB/s. On the recieving server, the DLGDiagv504f.exe file is named .dlgdiagv504.f.exe.7dd0oa and is only 512 kb. The rsync process still runs after this, like it's in an idle mode. It's not just this file, its been a number of different files.

XEN server stalling .. problem spotted - solution required
Ok, I''ve been chasing this for many days .. I have a server running 10 instances that periodically freezes .. then sometimes "comes back." I tried many things to try to spot the problem and finally found it by accident. It''s a little frustrating as typically the Dom0 and One (or two) instances "go" and the rest carry on .. and there is diddley squat when it

stalling during delta processing
I have a 29 Gig full backup on a remote server (lets call if fedor) that is called Kbup_1. I have a 1.3 Gig incremental backup on my local server. I have rsync 2.6.2 on both servers. Both are RedHat Linux 9.1 on i-686 hardware platforms. I issue the command "time rsync -avv --rsh=rsh --stats /test/Kibbutz/Kbup_1 fedor://test/Kibbutz". The synch takes ~5 minutes of real time and about
