Installing VC++ 2008 runtimes from termial only
I have an odd situation, I'm working in a server environment without a GUI and I need to get the VC++2008 runtimes installed for wine, but through winetricks it tries to create an X window. Obviously, this is not possible.
Are there any other options to get the VC++ runtimes installed through the terminal?

[2.3.8] possible replication issue
Hello,
upgrading to 2.3.9 unfortunately does *not* solve this issue:
I upgraded one of my replicators from 2.3.7.2 to 2.3.9 and after some
seconds replication stopped. The other replicator remained with 2.3.7.2.
After downgrading to 2.3.7.2 replication is again working fine.
I did not try to upgrade both replicators up to now, as this is a live
production system. Is there a chance, that

[2.3.8] possible replication issue
Hello Timo,
upgrading both replicators did the job! Both replicators now run v2.3.9
and replication works fine, all sync-jobs which queued up during the
upgrading have been processed successfully.
Thanks for the reassurement and all your great work with dovecot,
Andreas

Synthesize low batt (LB) fron SNMP UPS which does not support this?
Hi,
after ignoring this for too long (see [1]), I'm still struggling how to
shut down servers fed by two independent UPS systems. Both are connected
to NUT via the snmp-ups driver with mibs "huawei" and "netvision".
However, I fear both do not feature the LB warning via ups.status.
We can shut down all less important servers (conencted to a single UPS)
via upssched

I fully agree and thus this ought to be done in/near uspd IMHO. I
glanced over the server/ directory and was not sure where even to begin

答复: I love NUT
Dear Developer and Tester,
I love NUT, because of the great interoperability. So I have the choice
and freedom on the operating system or the device. Many thanks on all
developers and the manufacturer, they support with informations,
material, wages and so on.
Dear Hyouko,
I am interested in to know, why every manufacturer use their own protocol.
The USB Power Device protocol is already 20

Dovecot 2.0 zlib and dbox
Hello,
As per wiki instructions, I tried to enable zlib compression of mails by
adding/modifying the following snippets of configuration:
plugin {
zlib_save_level = 6
zlib_save = gz
}
and
protocol imap {
mail_plugins = fts fts_squat autocreate zlib imap_zlib
imap_id_log = *
}
I am using dbox format and delivering the mails via dovecot deliver,
however mails don't seem

Many Thanks for your explanation, Ted!
All the necessaries to produce (and live from) new UPS-Equippment I
understand. Because of this I decided years ago to sell MGE-UPS. MGE did
have the greatness to pay Arnaud Quette to improve the Metasoftware NUT.
So we have one Software for brand new models and over 20years old IT
dinosaur. We earn money with replacement of accumulators and save in

overview zlib efficiency?
Hi,
may be someone has already done that: Do you have a script(?) tool which
shows the efficiency of the mail compression if zlib is used?
Something that shows the uncompressed size vrs. the compressed.
Thanks for hints! /G?tz

Icecast Freelancer
Hi there,
I'm looking for a freelance Linux system administrator experienced with
Icecast to migrate and upgrade an existing setup from Google Cloud to
Hetzner Cloud. Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I didn't
find any info where to post jobs on https://icecast.org/faq/ ?
Kind regards,
