Thanks to Drew Vonada-Smith the roaming profiles are working again. The problem was that information stored in

File integrity in Samba/NFS environment
Hi, I have a two server setup that acts as SMB as well as NFS servers in active/active configuration managed by CTDB(http://ctdb.samba.org/). When a file is updated by SMB clients(followed by file-close), other SMB clients can see and modify the file. But when a NFS client (same user) updates the same file(followed by file-close), only one SMB server can see the updates. The clients mounting

wbinfo; --getdcname vs --DSgetdcname
I'm wondering what the difference is between the two wbinfo functions, "getdcname" and "DSgetdcname". The help is not very helpful here: --dsgetdcname /|domain|/ Find a DC for a domain. --getdcname /|domain|/ Get the DC name for the specified domain. I have a Samba4 PDC that is returning different results for these depending upon whether it's run on the

Re: Can Garmin's (MapSource) USB map-card reader be used in Wine?
Hello, I tried to install Mapsource 6 in Wine (20050211.2) on MDK LE2005 but it didn't install... The same with GIDroute which installed but didn't want to be launched. I will give it a try on MDV 2006 but I don't expect a miracle. And the pseudo map applications for Linux are not really what we can consider as useful and easy to handle with... Strange FXS disconnection problem.
Hi All, I've tried to find the solution to this, but sadly met with failure. I've got an asterisk box with two X100P's in, and both cards have the same strange problem. After 2min 40seconds (always: within +/- 1sec) they drop an outbound call. Inbound calls are not affected... they stay up as long as required. I've seen a fair bit of chatter about similar kinds of

Help with Registry Stuff
I've used the Wiki page to find and set my video memory size, but I am puzzled because it doesn't seem to be working. The setting is HKCU.Software.Wine.Direct3D.VideoMemorySize I set this to a string value of 128 which is the size in MB of my video memory. Have it set it to the wrong value type? Should the string value have been enclosed in quotes? I am on UBUNTU 10.04 running wine

Failing to join an ADS domain
Hi, I am trying to join a microsoft AD domain using RHEL 5.3. I tried with the default Samba release (provided by redhat) with no luck. I've just upgraded to Samba 3.3.6 (using http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/recent/rhel/5/x86_64/) but it still fails. The AD domain is "example.domain.org" and has its own DNS servers. My /etc/resolv.conf file redirects DNS queries to the AD DC DNS

shared folder in the samba domain, can't be access on trusting domain users
Hi, Anybody got experienced that the shared folder (in SAMBAAD domain) can't be accessible on the trusting domain (TESTHV). Background: SAMBAAD has one-way trust with TESTHV. TESTHV users can login in the SAMBAAD connected machines. Currently using Version 4.9.0rc5. It's working fine if the SAMBAAD users access with it, but users in TESTHV could not access with it even the permission

Samba very, VERY slow ...
Hello ! I've installed serveral servers under Linux in my association with samba on it, without any problem. But, for the latest application we need to use, samba has to share about 800 borland data files. All goes right, but the systeme (P3-800Mhz-256Mo RAM for 8 users) is very, VERY slow (about 40 second to open the application). I've take a look at the system use, even when a client

Problem joining a Win2008R2 DC
Hello, this is now my second attempt to join a Windows Server 2008R2 DC to a samba AD domain. I had to forcibly remove the first 2k8 DC from the domain after I messed it up completely in the first try. I followed "Demoting an Offline Domain Controller" from the wiki here. This time joining fails right during running dcpromo. I get the error that it could not replicate

Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found.
Hello, I've been trying to add a new server to my Samba 4 Active directory, but I've been failing so far. I'm running the command "net ads join -k" and it fails with "Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found." The answers I found so far imply a problem with the RPC service, but
