NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT at open_socket_out_send due to firewall
Hi,
We've got a few layers of firewall between our DCs and a domain guest
providing winbind services. What I've noticed is that on first run
winbind tries to use the high ports to set up part of the communication.
During that process, the winbindd process runs at 100% CPU, and it takes
about two minutes to time out. After that time things settle down and
winbind works perfectly.

NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT at open_socket_out_send due to firewall
Have you tried using IPTABLES to REJECT that port. It will send something
back and then maybe the timeout will fail immediately instead of waiting
the timeout period? So on the local machine(that is running winbind) try
iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp --dport 49155 -j REJECT
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 49155 -j REJECT
Might not need it in both, but since we are checking...

This is a really weird one. To the ( XP Pro ) client, I can join the domain, but can never log in. I've looked all over for a troubleshooting guide, but none have found the problem.
Help!!!

Samba(3.2.12 and 3.4.0) - Winbind - trusted domains - Problem!
Good Morning!
We got in some troubles using trusted domains and winbind. First i will tell you something about the network and samba configuration.
For our SMB Environment we use Samba 3.2.12. We have three trusted domains. Our Samba Server uses LDAP as Backend. Most of the time it worked nice, but after some time Winbind loses User Entrys. On the windows side i can see "unknown user

Failed samba_kcc - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT
hi,
The error is consistently occurring across all four of my DCs.

source4/dsdb/kcc/kcc_periodic.c:790: Failed samba_kcc -

I configured logging to level 5 and observed DC1. No errors were detected;
instead, kcc_periodic.c executed smoothly, and the system reported a
successful outcome.

Samba 4.8.3 out of memory error
Our domain controllers have run samba 4.4.3 since it was released. We
didn't upgrade because it was so stable :)
I recently decided that release was too old and upgraded to 4.8.2
(then current). Our domain controllers were crashing on 4.8.2 so I
upgraded to 4.8.3 as soon as it was released but this has not resolved
the issue.
When the issue occurs the DC becomes unresponsive and needs to be

cli_push returned NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT
Hello all,
I'm having a problem with smbclient after an upgrade from 3.0.37 to
3.5.3 (I also tested 3.5.11 and 3.6.0).
The client uses a command similar to:
tar -cz /some/directory | smbclient '\\server_ip\share' -N -c 'put
- "\directory\filename"'
After that the client checks the exit status to determine if the
transfer succeeded or failed.
The server
