cupsaddsmb error: cli_pipe_validate_current_pdu: RPC fault code DCERPC_FAULT_OP_RNG_ERROR received

Now when i'am running cupsaddsmb i got the following errors(this error occours in 3.5.x but not in 3.2.x): server-p:/# cupsaddsmb -H server-p -v edv01 edv02 edv03 Kennwort f?r root erforderlich, um ?ber SAMBA auf server-p zugreifen zu k?nnen:

RPC fault code DCERPC_FAULT_OP_RNG_ERROR
I'm testing out a new Samba setup to hopefully replace my aging Win2k domain. I've got some of it working: - My PDC (shadow) seems to be working on the CASA domain with an LDAP backend. - nss_ldap and pam_ldap are working on shadow - I can run wbinfo -u and get the user info from LDAP on shadow. - I can run wbinfo -a username%password and authenticate a user on shadow. I can run

Winbind - wbinfo -u works, getent passwd only gives local users
I only have limited Samba experience, and expect this is a silly mistake, but have been unable to find a solution I have installed Samba and Winbind on my desktop Linux (Debian) machine (SPARKSTONELX), aiming to unify logins with other windows machines accessing the PDC, again samba/Debian, with tdbsam password backend. All is well, joining the domain, and getting account details using wbinfo -u,

Authentication fails - 3.0.26a-0.9-1787-SUSE-SLES9
I recently brought up our fifth Samba domain member server with 3.0.26a-0.9-1787-SUSE-SLES9 against an NT4 domain on a new subnet. The subnet also has an NT4 BDC that is working correctly. Wbinfo and getent both work properly but users can not get to the [homes] service but can get to another share that is on the same system. If I setup a share definition in smb.conf for myself as a home

Winbind to a Samba 3.4 server
I thought I had setup winbind correctly as I can login to my ubuntu 9.04 machine with domain users, but I am trying to get ntlm working with squid, and while testing winbind I get the following error. sudo wbinfo -a MBAG\\user%passwd plaintext password authentication failed Could not authenticate user MBAG\user%passwd with plaintext password challenge/response password authentication failed error

The member server was running fine with the old smb.conf file, but I rebuilt the server and now it

RPC Error with PC Netlink - additional info
Some additional info: The solaris server is Solaris 10 (sparc.) According to man smb.conf, "enable asu support = yes" creates an IPC only "ADMIN$" share. Using the computer management tool from a Windows machine I could verify this was the case. However, the "ADMIN$" share on the PC Netlink server is actually a data share. I did try "enable asu support =

Setting up PDC w/ LDAP
I've almost got it. I swear I've almost got it (and I've been doing a lot of swearing lately). I re-built my PDC, starting from scratch. I'm not using the editposix extensions anymore - I'm using the smbldap tools as shown (I think) in the Samba by Example. I really really thought I did everything right. Obviously I was wrong. What works - all my workstations and

security = user vs security = domain and winbind trust
If you require and more information let me know and thanks in advance .. I'm working with dansguardian and squid with ntlm_auth. I join squid to the domain and it works for 7 days. After 7 days to the minute from the time I joined the server to the domain winbind decides it has lost its trust. And then squid cant utilize ntlm_auth as it requires winbind to function properly. I'm using

group mapping on a member server - winbindd and solaris 10
>From what I can tell it does look as if I have to run winbindd on member servers, even if NIS is used, to get SID's mapping consistently across the domain. The PDC is Samba 3.025a on Solaris 10. Two member servers are Samba 3.025a on solaris 9. If i start winbindd on a memv, the "wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g" commands show my users and groups. However, the

Need help getting roaming profiles to work
Hi! First, let me apologize for the length of this message. I wanted to include as much relevant info as I could and it got a bit lengthy. For reasons that I won't bother to detail here, I ended up volunteering to upgrade the server at my kids school. It's a small private school with an all-volunteer tech support staff (me!). We currently have about 40 computers serving about 150 people.

Problem getting Samba fully working
Hello all, Relevant info up front: Gentoo PC, using 2.6.38 kernel and Samba 3.4.12. I'm trying to get a FreeRadius instance working for our Windows network. To do so, I need a Linux box running Samba. I've installed and configured Kerberos, Samba and FreeRadius, and can get most things to work. I can get a Kerberos key using kinit, and "sudo net ads keytab list" shows me

RPC Error with PC Netlink
I have setup a Samba 3.024 server on Solaris. I have successfully enabled two-way trusts between my samba domain and my legacy PC Netlink domain. (PC Netlink is the solaris port of NT4 aka Advanced Server for Unix.) My Samba domain includes 2 Windows 2003 Servers (One is Windows 2003 SP1, the other is Windows 2003 R2 SP2.) The PCNL server supports Windows 2000 Servers and XP Pro clients.

Users lose connections after restarting servers.
I've had a long running problem with two servers. One is the PDC of a NT style domain one is a Member Server. Sometimes when I restart the servers after maintenance some users lose connections to the Member Server. Sometimes it takes several hours for the problem to show up (today it took about 16 hours). I have been unable to determine the cause but I can usually solve it by restarting

Problem authenticating from standalone servers via Samba 3.0.34 domain member servers to Samba 3.2.5 domain controller
We recently upgraded our PDC from Debian 4 to Debian 5. That entailed an upgrade of Samba from 3.0.24 to 3.2.5. Since the upgrade we've had a very specific problem connecting to shares on a commercial NAS running Samba 3.0.34. The problem happens when users try to connect to shares from standalone servers--e.g., Windows XP Pro boxes that we use for testing. From those boxes users should be
