_netr_ServerAuthenticate3: netlogon_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request
I am getting errors in my samba logs like "_netr_ServerAuthenticate3: netlogon_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from client XXX machine account XXX$" (Host log:?http://pastebin.com/QXhbngN5). So far, machines do seem to join the domain (Machine account is created in LDAP, user can log in, etc), but I am concerned that when Windows 7 machines reach their 30 days they

Server Upgrade
Hi, I have just upgraded our server. Ubuntu 9.04 Samba 2:3.3.2-1ubuntu3 I gave samba a few tests and it seemed to work OK so I went ahead. Next day Users lost there roaming profile and were logged into a local profile. So I rejoined them to the domain. This worked OK - sort of. I am using smbpasswd file and noticed that suddenly the passwords were getting changed by something and became the

Hello: I'm trying to set up a small domain on my home network. ?The goal is to have a domain member server connect to my samba PDC using winbind for authentication against a tdbsam database. ?I've tried reading the official howto, and a few help sites, but I'm still having difficulty accomplishing my goal. ?I'm using Samba 3.3.2 on Fedora 11 for both computers. Samba 3 PDC > 3.3.4 broken with Win 7 RTM
I just installed Win 7 RTM (Release to Manufacturing), not RC nor Beta. After searching the archives I modified the required registry settings listed in other emails. I upgraded my Samba from the stock Centos 5.3 version to 3.3.7. Joining the domain worked, but I was unable to log in. I would get a 'Trust relationship denied' type error when trying to log in as a user of the domain.

Windows 7 RC
I'm wondering if anybody's got this work with windows server 2008 R2 RC (build 7100). I'm able to join my samba domain after making all of the posted registry modifications, but I too am getting the "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed" message when I try to login. I upgraded to Samba 3.3.6 (from 3.0.33) and joined the machine

Adding a machine acount
Hi, I migrated from an MS NT Domain to a samba3 domain some time back. I forgot about a couple of machines and am trying to add them. These are Buffalo NAS workstations so are basically *nix machines with a web interface. I have not had to add any machines to the domain from the samba PDC before. This is what I've done. I tried to add the machine using it's web interface but it failed and

BDC Rejecting auth request from client + Windows 7
Just some background: In our environment, we are running both a PDC and BDC. The local network setup has static ips on a different subnet from dhcp ips, thus the PDC has a static ip and the BDC has a dynamic one so the Windows machines are able to see the domain without hardcoding in the ip of the PDC as a wins on each machine. This has worked fine for Windows XP. We are also using ldap as the

Samba clients losing domain membership
Hello, we are currently in the process of migrating Windows machines to Ubuntu 10.04. For now, these machines act as samba clients in a Windows domain (which is controlled also by a samba PDC), and are itself sharing files via SMB/CIFS. The clients are - from time to time and with no apparent reason - losing their domain membership. When this happens, access to shares on the PDC still seems to

Win 7 - Rejecting auth request from client
Hi, I have an odd issue where I'm getting auth request failure errors for all my Windows 7 machines. The strange thing is that everything appears to be functioning perfectly. I can add machines to the domain, log in as domain users, browse domain shares, and the machines regularly change their trust password. So functionally, everything is fine.... it's only the log message which is
