new user cannot logon to one computer in the domain
I run a NT-Domain with samba 3.0.28a and WinXP-Clients (SP3)
Everything is fine. But now I created a new user and this new user can logon to all machines in the Domain but one. On this machine the user gets the message "user cannot login. check username/password/domain and be aware that username/password are casesensitive" (I translated this from german)
Other users can login fine. I

couldn't find service netlogo
One of our winXP users intermittently can't process the login script.
sometimes it works and maps his drives, sometimes it doesn't. I have the
netlogon share configured correctly.
Looking at the logs for the user in question, I see this when the user
logs in:
"couldn't find service netlogo"
"closed connection to service netlogon"
it truncates netlogo in the log

Win 32-bit, stack size problem with third party software?
Dear R-developers,
since R 2.15.2 I?m getting an error with my RNetLogo package.
The package uses rJava and connects to the Java program NetLogo
(http://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/).
When starting it in so-called GUI-mode, i.e.:
library(RNetLogo)
NLStart("C:/Program Files/NetLogo 5.0.3", gui=T) #replace the path with the
path to your NetLogo installation directory

create separate plots by factors
Hello,
I am attempting to create several plots based on "site" (~300 total)
and am having trouble with the code. I simply want to create a plot
using the code, plot(year, peak), for the following dataset. I would
like for each site to be plotted on a separate page and the plots
saved in a directory. Would a "foreach" loop work? I tried a "by"
statement, but

Using syslinux to boot xen without initrd
Erwan, I'm using syslinux v3.85
Gene, the kernel was built using buildroot (and I checked that Xen support
was enabled). Didn't try without the menu, will see that now.
Also, I saw a short note on syslinux mboot wiki page: "A really good use
case for this (using mboot.c32) is booting Xen <http://xensource.com>, or
any other hypervisor-based virtualization pieces that also

A simple stand-alone scenario but "public" share doesn´t work
Dear list,
For a simple home-network i recently installed Debian Etch on an extra
machine to act as server. It stores my mail, it acts as
webserver, firewall, dns-, dhcp- and database-server. All of these
services are running like a charm. The only thing left is
to get samba running. Well, it is running, but to get it running how i
want it to is a different matter i suppose, for i am

building R, rJava, & Rserve on Centos without admin privileges (or support)
I am trying to build R on a Centos server without admin privileges (or

R extension or possibly Rserve), but I'm getting stuck near the end of
make. Any suggestions?
Here's the setup...

$ R_HOME=~/R-devel
$ cd $R_HOME; ./configure; make

Problem with integrating ISDN PBX using NT mode
Hi,
I'm just in the process of replacing a crappy Siemens PBX with a new and
shiny Asterisk system. To connect Legacy equipment I hooked up a small
ISDN PBX (DeTeWe OpenCom 36) to one port on a Junghanns.net quadBRI
card. That port is configured for NT Point to Multipoint
(Mehrgeraeteanschluss) mode. Now I can place calls from the ISDN PBX to
the other Asterisk extensions but the other way

Log entries with truncated service names
Hello all
I am running Samba 3.2.8 over CentOS 5.2, with a LDAP back end.
On some days, not all, strange entries appear in the Samba logs. I get
entries like this:
[2009/03/18 18:35:09, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(1366)
aurora (192.168.0.22) couldn't find service netlogo
The real name of the service is of course "netlogon".
Another example for the share named

Using syslinux to boot xen without initrd
Hello all,
I have a Linux kernel image with Xen compiled for an embedded system. It
doesn't need an initrd as everything required for it to boot is already in
the final kernel image, and it works perfectly. But I'm having problems to
boot the Xen image without an initrd. I'm following this guideline
http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/Xen for my syslinux configuration
file, but

Receiving faxes and then sending them on
Hi,
I'm trying to setup a system where incoming faxes are received using
SpanDSP and then send on to another (remote) fax machine. The SpanDSP
part is working excellently, however I dont seem to be able to get
the forwarding part to work. Heres what I put into my extensions.conf:

exten => s,5,Set(FAXFILE=/tmp/fax-${UNIQUEID}.tif)
