smbd/oplock.c:oplock_timeout_handler(375) after samba upgrade
I recently upgraded from samba 3.0.10-1.fc3 to 3.0.21b-2 running on FC5. Today was the first day of a typing class which uses the network version of Mavis Beacon Typing which depends on file sharing. The users are hanging and then getting an error message during logging into the product. In /var/log/message, I can see the following message for each user similar to: [2006/04/24

3.2.11 not compiling on solaris 9 (libtalloc.so.1 error)
I am consistently getting "libtalloc.so.1: No such file or directory" when attempting to 'make' any version of samba. I've tried all of the suggestions from the list archives on this subject. Using Solaris 9 sparc. Current versions are: gcc 3.4.6 (sunfreeware pkg) samba-3.2.11 (and any other version of samba I try) Admittedly - compiling from source is not

Samba-winbind under Solaris8
Dear All, I have successfully compiled MIT krb5 and samba 3.0.28a under Solaris8. Joining an AD domain works fine and also the commands wbinfo -t, -g and -u list all of the users. getent passwd and getent group are also working. The problem now is that when i run the "group user" command it just stays there and doesn't display any users. This works fine under Linux (SLES9, RHEL4)

Bug in sernet RPM's postun?
Hi, I was just wondering whether this possible bug with the Sernet Samba3 RPMs for CentOS 5 is known, since it has not yet been fixed. When uninstalling the Sernet RPMs for Samba3 (in this case Samba 3.2.x) the %postun scriptlet fails every time with: # rpm -e samba3-3.2.0-36 /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.56356: line 2: fg: no job control error: %postun(samba3-3.2.0-36.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status

Update to 3.5 failed
I changed my Sernet Samba repos from 3.4 to 3.5 and updated the Sernet Packages on my CentOS Server with yum. During the installation I got %postun errors. The command "rpm -qa | grep -i samba" lists the following packages as installed: samba3-3.5.0-41.el5 samba3-3.2.11-40.el5 samba3-client-3.5.0-41.el5 samba3-3.2.8-38 samba3-winbind-3.5.0-41.el5 When I want to remove the useless

Release Version Symbols
Hi, I might get fried for posting this question, since it would have been asked before (too little time for me to search the archives). How can I obtain debug symbols for winbindd (or any smbd or nmbd binary?). Specifically I am looking for version 3.2.11-0.1.145. Thanks much for the help. -s

CSRF resets my session in Firefox
Hello all, I''ve been trying to diagnose an issue with CSRF and Firefox specifically. I''ve got an ajax based form, using UJS (yes, I have csrf_meta_tag in my layout and I''ve tried adding the X-CSRF-Token header to the ajax beforeSend events without any luck)... The form just posts some data to an ajax method that creates, saves, and sets the session for a shopper as

mount.cifs not reporting locking issues to Linux?
Hi there I recall in times past that when a locked file on a Windows server was accessed by smbfs, you received a kind of "text file busy" type error under Linux. However, on our CentOS4 servers running mount.cifs, accessing a locked file now only reports a "Permission denied" Wireshark shows the server sending "STATUS_FILE_LOCK_CONFLICT" errors to Linux, but it

username map is not working properly
I have specified path for 'username map' in smb.conf. I have a single entry in smb.conf: brajesh_01:~ # cat $mapfile root = SFSDEV\administrator brajesh_01:~ # I have a share 'share1' on file system fs1 which is exported to the Windows users. When I create a folder 'check1' inside the share share1, then user and group permission is properly assigned to the mapped

way to get smbclient to do "dir *\filename"?
Says it all really. I'm hoping there's some escape char trick I could do to make this work? Recursing through all the directories would obviously work, but this is for a script that runs over the WAN, so performance is a major issue - I literally just want to see if a file exists in one of the next layers down. Just getting the wildcard through (I think CIFS allows that?) would solve the

[PATCH] nsd-patch: fix segfault after renaming slave zone
Hi all, we have discovered a segfault in nsd-patch when renaming slave zone in nsd config file if some data for this zone still exists in the IXFR diff database. In my case, the zone "black" was renamed to "blackinwhite": > root at ggd115:/cage/nsd/var/nsd/zones#nsd-patch -c > /cage/nsd/etc/nsd-dns-slave.conf > reading database > reading updates to database >

Samba Group Mapping
Hi All I have Samba 3.2.11 installed on Suse (sles 10) machine. I am playing around the group mapping functionality. When I map a linux group to nt group. I can see that groups is visible on windows client. But, if I restart the smbd daemon (while changing the scurity mode for ads to user or vice versa), I can no more see the mapped group to the the Windows client. Though, I was able to see
