Hi@ll with latest stable samba opensuse 11 the samba-vscan pack seems to be broken with scan-clamav.s Error trying to resolve symbol 'init_samba_module' in /usr/lib64/samba/vfs/vscan-clamav.so: /usr/lib64/samba/vfs/vscan-clamav.so: undefined symbol: init_samba_module shouldn it be init_module now ( taken somewhere from google) -- Best Regards MfG Robert Schetterer

Hi, I am trying to configure Samba as blocking virus transfer so that shares can be safe. I am using redhat el3 and fc4. I want to install samba-vscan, clamd. I have tried to install it from tar packages but i couldn't succeed it. I have read some HOWTO's but I still face the same problems. Are there any documents that explain exactly how its going to be? Looks like something has changed as samba-vscan 0.3.6 (latest as of this writing) doesn't compile with 3.0.20.

Hi, I just upgraded samba from 3.0.37 to 3.4.6 on a gentoo machine. After converting the passwd file (pdbedit -i smbpasswd -e tdbsam) I tried to login from a windows client but it didn''t work. After commenting the vfs-recycle entries in the shares definition I could successfully login. I cannot find any hint that the vfs objects in samba 3.4 has changed. Can somebody help? Thanks in

I just installed samba3+samba-vscan via ports on a FreeBSD 4.x system. Samba is running just fine and thanks to the help of webmin it was easily configured. Today I finally was able to get windows shares to be mounted on my FreeBSD server. So naturally I want to run av scans on it.
