Compiling Samba 3.2.7 fails on RHEL 4
My apologies if I sent this email to Seeger directly in error.
Any clues to the problem I posted below?
Thanks!

Samba 3.3.0rc1 for production server - is it safe?
Wow, thank you Miguel. By the way, maybe this information can be
useful for the developers.
As the RHEL4's rpmbuild problem I told you before, I changed a line in
pam_winbind.c - in function `_pam_error_code_str';
old line:
PAM_AUTHTOK_RECOVERY_ERR
new line:
=> PAM_AUTHTOK_RECOVER_ERR
because I saw this in pam_windbind.h

Winbind dumps core after upgrade to 3.2.6
Hello,
I was running 3.2.4 since yesterday evening, when I decided to
upgrade to 3.2.6
I did recompile from the sources (with the same configure options I
used for 3.2.4) then shutdown samba, replace the binaries and libs,
then start again.
Everything then went fine until this morning when a user from a
trusted domain made a connection to the DC. I took a look and saw that
winbindd dumped

3.2.6 or 3.3
Hello list,
We have been using 3.2.6 the last few months and are reasonably happy with it.
I am about to build a new file server (to replace the existing solution) and now have to decide to either stick with 3.2.6 (because we know it works) or upgrade to 3.3.
Main use will be a few distributed, replicated volumes on two servers with maybe a dozen or so clients.
Secondary use will be a

net command in sernet -samba 3.4 for RHEL
After upgrading a test machine to Sernet's 3.4 package, it looks like
the "net" command is gone. This was definitely there in the
redhat-supplied 3.0 build and I thought it was there in sernet's 3.3
build too. I installed all the rpm's - samba3-client, samba3-utils,
samba3-cifsmount.... am I missing something?

QA builds for 3.2.6 and 3.3 beta3
Greetings,
There are 2 imminent releases coming soon to a download server near you:
1. GlusterFS 3.2.6 - a maintenance release that fixes some bugs.
2. GlusterFS 3.3 beta 3 - the next iteration of the exciting new hotness that will be 3.3
You can find both of these in the "QA builds" server:

Error on Samba 3.2.6 installation
When I installed Samba 3.2.6 from Sernet, I got the following error:
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.54116: line 2: fg: no job control
error: %postun(samba3-3.0.32-36.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
The error happens when installing the samba and winbind RPMs.
I got the same error when installing the previous version 3.2.5 and
perhaps 3.2.4. The "rpm-tmp.number" was different in those cases,

Gluster 3.2.6 for XenServer
Hi,
I have Gluster 3.2.6 RPM's for Citrix XenServer 6.0. I've installed and mounted exports, but that's where I stopped.
My issues are:
1. XenServer mounts the NFS servers SR subdirectory, not the export. Gluster won't do that.
-- I can, apparently, mount the gluster export somewhere else, and then 'mount --bind' the subdir to the right place
2. I don't really know

Samba 3.2.6 upgrade -> smbd panic in printing.
Hello,
upgraded to Samba 3.2.6, and immediately printing went into coma. Observed
that printers lose their configurations (driver models, locations, etc).
And if I reset the printer drivers on each share, eventually they will be
lost again.
Looking at the logs we are getting panics like this:
