[PATCH] drm/nouveau/mxm: fix null deref on load
Since commit 61b365a50 (drm/nouveau: populate master subdev pointer only
when fully constructed), the nouveau_mxm(bios) call will return NULL,
since it's still being called from the constructor. Instead, pass the
mxm pointer via the unused data field.

mounting an AD share upon login
Hi everyone,
I am having trouble mounting a share on my AD server upon login.
I am using pam_mount. Here is log activity when user 'peter' logs in
(with Ubuntu client) and is authenticated by AD server. There is a
share called 'peter' on the server (netbios name WIN2003) and the mount
point is /home/PRIVATE/peter (see later for pam_mount.conf file):

Compiz starts, but no 3D effects
I just installed Compiz on Ubuntu Feisty (Gutsy does not work on my
hardware as per the release notes) via the
http://ppa.launchpad.net/amaranth/ubuntu repo, which is the repo
suggested in the compiz-fusion website. The machine is a Dell Inspiron
E1505 / 6400 with the horrible ATI X1400 graphics card and 1680x1050
monitor. I installed XGL and the proprietary ATI driver, a combination

R GUI in Ubuntu Feisty?
Dear all,
After an update from Ubuntu Edgy to Feisty, I seem to have lost package
JGR()!?
I have updated my sources.list to point to the Feisty repos at
http://cran.ch.r-project.org/ and re-installed JGR() via:
$ sudo rm -rf /usr/local/lib/R/site-packages/*
$ sudo R CMD javareconf
$ sudo R
> install.packages("JGR",dep=TRUE)
> library(JGR)
> JGR()
However, I get the

Upgrading to R 2.5.1 on Ubuntu Feisty 64
Hi there,
A new thread was started on the R list about problems to upgrade R to
version 2.5.1 and we were re-directed on this list. We are two with
exactly the same problem and the same distribution (Ubuntu Feisty 64).
We are unable to upgrade to R 2.5.1. The r-base-core package is version
2.4.1 in Ubuntu repositories while all others r-cran related packages
are upgraded to R 2.5.1

Updating packages in Ubuntu feisty for 2.5
Hi,
I would like to run R2.5.1 in Ubuntu feisty on an AMD64 chip.
I am a total newbie to Linux.
I have successfully compiled 2.5 however, I am not able to figure out
how to upgrade the packages.
I am not able to find an R-base-core_2.5.1-1_amd64 or all on the CRAN mirrors.
I can find one on the Ubuntu feisty site, however when I try to
install it I get a warning that Dependency is not stisfiable:

gtk-window-decorator - No window borders
Hi,
I have a strange problem with gtk-window-decorator. I've tried 0.3.6 &
the latest from git, but with either I don't get any window borders when
running gwd. I hope its not something simple I've missed but I've
searched around and not found anything. gwd never segfaults or even
displays any warnings or anything for that matter. It just doesn't draw
the borders. I've

Which version of Ubuntu to use with Rails
Hello,
This is a question for folks who are using Ubuntu to host your Rails
apps. Which version of Ubuntu do you use?
Do you use the ''Dapper'' release (6.0.6) perhaps due to the long term
support (LTS), or are you using the latest release ''Feisty'' (7.0.4)?
Or maybe a better way to ask the question is, is there a preferred
version of Ubuntu to use with Ruby

Blur problems
I'm using compiz compiled for feisty by trevino, on a mobility radeon x1600
using fglrx 8.38.6 over Xgl 7.2.0.
I'm experiencing some problems with the blur: after a short time using
compiz the blur over
the windows (most noticeably the terminal) becomes a opaque gray. I really
don't know how to debug this problem... :(
I'll be happy to give any information you'll need

Right-- Ubuntu Feisty also uses 4.1.2, and fails to build LLVM.
The newer Ubuntu uses 4.2.something and compiles LLVM cleanly.

charset in graphics
How do I make Lithuanian characters display correctly in R graphics?
Instead of the special characters for Lithuanian language I get question
marks...
I use Ubuntu Feisty, the locale is utf-8 ...
Do I need to specify somewhere the locale for R, or - default font for the
graphics?

can't make mustek powermust 600usb work
Disclaimer: I've setup APC UPS monitoring and it works...
... but when it comes to mustek powermust 600usb (connected via
com-port), I can't make it work.
Got NUT installed via aptitude in ubuntu feisty and a basic setup,
exactly the same as for the apc, except for the name of the ups and
the corresponding section of ups.conf
