Hi Samba Bods, Sorry for re-posting this one but I got no response to my last post except for a level 10 logs request which I uploaded last week. I have been looking at numerous howtos and newsgroup postings and I cannot spot what the issue is. I am sure its a simple config issue, but I am lost .. I am using Samba 3.2.4 compiled from source on AIX 5.3 TL8 and using "security =

Hello, I have been failing to configure the pware compiled version of SAMBA 3.5.11, prepared for AIX 6.1, upon an AIX 7.1 system to work in an ADS domain and I wondered if anyone might be able to advise on what I should do next. I am trying to setup the AIX server as a file server within the ADS domain so that users can be recognised in an SSO configuration. I am pretty confident that the krb

krb5 library issues when Compiling 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3
I have been trying to configure/compile Samba 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3 with ML-11 and ML-10. The configure issues that I am getting only occur if I use --with-ads. I can run configure on both versions if I do not include ADS support. The errors I get are: checking for krb5_principal_get_realm... no checking for krb5_princ_realm... no configure: WARNING: krb5_mk_req_extended not found in

Good afternoon, I have many AIX clients running samba from pware. I want to move to either the version on the AIX expansion pack or the rpm's IBM suggests we download, https://www-01.ibm.com/marketing/iwm/iwm/web/reg/pick.do?source=aixbp&lang=en_US The problem is that the samba version from pware that is working is old and I don't see the pware downloads anymore to upgrade to a

AIX Testers Needed.
Hello AIX folks, I am changing the packaging of Samba for AIX. Presently Samba is built with a truckload of static libs and bound up in a package that has no other support for the supporting infrastructure. What I'd like to do instead is make as much of the package dependant upon shared libs and to allow for completeness of the package. In other words, BDB, OpenSSL, OpenLDAP, SASL, KRB5,

I have found the samba which is provided

Software for AIX available [WAS: AIX Testers Needed].
ftp://ftp.hvcc.edu/pub/pware/aix52/ The ftp site above contains IBM installp format packages that install into /opt/pware so it doesn't interfere with existing /usr/local installations. A few packages (BDB, MySQL, Apache and Samba) can have several versions installed concurrently, others are replaced on upgrade. Some packages of interest include GCC 4.1.1, Apache 2.0.59 with PHP 5.2.0

security=ADS related question
Hi all, I am just struggling with SAMBA design and i was wondering whether anyone here can help. In my environment, there is an AD server and my SAMBA server is on an AIX box. I need to set up SAMBA so that it will use AD authentication AND few particular users found in AD (but not yet in AIX) will need to own the files within SAMBA shares. Is that possible? The thing is.. other than those 2
