Opus Requirement for embedded Application
Hello everyone, I tried integrating opus middleware on an STM32L4 microcontroller based project. First thing I noticed is the considerable amount of memory allocated by the opus_encoder_create function (nearly 40 kbytes if I recall). After modifying my project's memory setting (mainly heap size adjustments), I could bypass some aspects of this problems. What I'm noticing now is the time

Hi, I'm looking for common practices for backing up user data to disk. My user data is all in /home. I'm also interested in what folks are doing for things backing up os and configs. Any pointers on setting up rsync, cpio, etc would be appreciated. Pointers to good how-to's especially welcome. Currently we're using Arkeia Network Backup (commercial product with which I am

Sso the Linux way?
So I was googling around about this over the last week and here is what I found: nis/yp is for some reason bad. Kerbos is holy, but no how-to's that don't involve windows and active directory. What is the recommended sso approach for centos? Where are there examples / docs to follow? Jason -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -

Centos 5.2, Xen and "/lib[64]/tls"
Hi, I'm setting up a few machines for virtualization using Xen on Centos 5.2 x86_64. A lot of how-to's out there tell me to do something like "mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.disabled" or similar actions or else Xen might not work correctly. Is this something that is still relevant or does it only apply to older versions of Xen/Centos? If this is still necessary what is the best way

SuSE7.0 with Nvidia-GLX does not run together with MESA?
I saw on a "easy" Howto (there are about 10 different how-to's), that the MESA-package from SuSE ist conflicting with the GL-Drivers from Nvidia (which you need to run Nvidia-Cards 3D-accelerated). Is it true, that I have to uninstall MESA? -- live long and prosper

I am attempting to install EnterpriseSamba (Sernet) on a Ubuntu 14.04.1LTS server. I finding it a challenge to determine the proper installation and configuration procedures with sernet-samba. Adding Things to Rescue Mode
I'd like to add a few things to rescue mode. I'm tired of having to use a floppy with hardware drivers when ever I need to go into rescue mode and there are a few other utilities that I'd like to add as well. How would I go about doing this? Any pointers to FAQ's or "How to's"? I've done some searching, but haven't found anything recent enough to be

Samba smbpasswds and local Linux passwords
Hello all, I am new to the list and am in need of some assistance: Does anyone have a current solution that they are using to synchronize the smbpasswd's on samba 3.0 with their local /etc/shadow passwords on RedHat 3.0 ES? I need a way to do this for the existing users on the system and for new users that get created nightly on the systems. Our users do log into the system remotely as

Kerberos authentication for non-windows KDCs
I was told recently that Kerberos authentication won't work against a non-windows KDC. Is that accurate? So for instance, it is not possible for Samba running on say RHEL, to authenticate against a Linux server running MIT Kerberos? Additionally, many people said that setting this up was well-documented. Any suggestions of particularly good docs / how-to's?' And lastly, is
