Cannot access share from Kodak printer
I'm trying to use a Samba (3.0.37) share on my ASUS RT-ac66R router as a destination for scans from my Kodak Office Hero 6.1 all-in-one printer. I'm currently getting an invalid User ID or Password error message. I have been unable to increase the Samba log level at all even after editing the log level in smb.conf. Before an old router running DDWRT (including Samba) failed, scanning to

can connect to 2 samba servers by name but to one by IP only
(This is a follow up on an earlier post but I have tried to summarize a
little better.)
I am having problems connecting to one samba server by host name (e.g
"net use \\servername" or via windows explorer) over IPSec VPN. I can
connect via "net use \\IPADDRESS." For every other Samba or Windows
server I can connect via host name. The problem host is the Samba PDC

4.2.14 (or newer) support "Windows for Workgroups 3.1a"?
There may be various "signing" parameters that you may need to set to
"no" on the samba PDC.
I would also disable SMB3. Windows 10 does support SMB3 but (in my
experience) Samba does not properly implement it, so you will get
problems. Windows 7 does not support SMB3 so will fall back to SMB2
anyway.
I suspect at this point making Windows 7 and Windows 3.11 interact

NTLMv1 v. NTLMv2 ; more than one "identity" on a TCP connection
Hello,
Two questions for you this evening.
How do you tell the difference between NTLMv1-style authentication and
NTLMv2 style? The CIFS dialect NT LM 0.12 does both(?), so does not
appear in the NegProtRequest message (nor in the flags, near as I could
tell). Do you ascertain this by examining the SessionSetupAndX
message? If so, what parts?
Is it possible to have more than one CIFS

SMB3.11 and receiving NT_STATUS_SMB_BAD_CLUSTER_DIALECT
We have the situation where we are trying to send to a server that has a cluster configuration. When we negotiate, it tells us to talk 3.11. When we actually try to send the file, the share's max protocol is actually only 3.02 and so the Microsoft server sends a NT_STATUS_SMB_BAD_CLUSTER_DIALECT, which means they expect the client to reconnect negotiating only 3.02 as max protocol. Strong Session Key and XP
I just finished debugging a Samba installation with Windows XP, and
thought I'd share some findings.
Thanks to MS screwing up our perfectly stable Windows 2000 network
with the release of SP4 (which our security people demanded we install
to stay current), we decided to upgrade to Windows XP Pro SP1 on the 8
computer lab windows machines.
The crux of the problem was that SP4 for win2k

Hello.
I need to let Windows for Workgroup 3.11 clients (industrial machinery)
connect to shares in the PDC samba Version 4.2.14-Debian.
I started to be able to connect to shares exported by domain members windows

Kerberos vs NTLM 0.12 in Samba log files...
Hi,
I am trying to make Samba 3.0.7 work with ADS security mode. In the Win2K3
server's Event Viewer, I see the client's logon. In that log entry's
properties, I see that the "logon process" used is Kerberos. However, in the
Samba log files, the protocol selected is "NTLM 0.12" and I see a lot of
Samba log entries regarding NTLM authentication, nothing about

Samba v3 works with LDAP, but not Samba v4
Hi Andrew!
I am not 100% sure that the password is correct. I was told that it was
changed to the one I am testing. But, when I try the old password, I get a
different error message (NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID). I will attached the
output.
I added the 'ntlm auth = yes' to the smb.conf. How would I change the
client?
The version of Samba that we are running is 4.7.1, which is the latest

Samba causing problems with NT tools
Samba is causing a couple huge problems for the NT admins here since we
switched a bunch of machines to security=server and started running nmbd.
We're running Samba 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 on a mix of Solaris, HP-UX, and OSF1
machines.
One, selecting a Samba server in Server Manager, then selecting Computer/
Services causes Server Manager to crash ("An application error has

Turn off SIP 183 Session Progress in Asterisk 1.4.8
[Resent due to non-descriptive subject line.]
Hi folks
When connecting two SIP users, is there any way to stop Asterisk from
sending SIP 183 Session Progress messages, either globally or
per-peer?
Scenario as follows:
Call from UA1 to Asterisk (UA2) to UA3.
UA3 sends RTP before SIP OK to Asterisk (UA2).
Asterisk (UA2) detects early audio from UA3 and sends 183 Session

3.0.2rc2 ads member server: kerberos ok, ntlm fails
Hello,
I set up samba 3.0.2rc2 (also tried 3.0.1 which had other problems) on
Debian sid as an ADS member server:
- joining the domain works flawlessly
- browsing the samba server via 'smbclient -k -L //samba' works flawlessly
- browsing the samba server via 'smbclient -L //samba -U user%pw' fails
with 'session setup failed: NT_STATUS_TRUSTED_RELATIONSHIP_FAILURE'

pam_mount in 'newer samba'...
Hai Marco,
Is the UPN set for this server. CIFS/hostnam.fqdn ?
Does its A and PTR match with the "real" hostname?
But i see : smb2_get_dfs_refer rc
Not commenting on this expect... upgrade the servers.. ;-)
Try :
apt install keyutils this might be missing and is needed for CIFS kerberos mounts
mount -t cifs -o user=USER,domain=DOMAIN,cruid=USER,sec=krb5,vers=3.0

Samba v3 works with LDAP, but not Samba v4
Hi Andrew!
Really appreciate the clarification and help. Understood about the
password. I have attached the log.127.0.0.1 with the "correct" password
being used. I do see entries in that log for the Primary Group of 0. Not
sure where I would need to make the change. Any guidance would be really
appreciated. Have been fighting this for the last 3 weeks. :-(
Thanks.

Samba Transaction Implementation
Hi,
I am enhancing the Samba Server on our product (VxWorks on the box) to
support Long Name. So I started implementing the dialect "LM1.2X002" (first
dialects that support Long Name, the current dialect that we support is PC
Network Program). I have implemented the Negotiation, Tree Connect AndX and
Open AndX command.
When I try access the shared drive of our product, after the

[LLVMdev] number of static paths
Hi, I am a student at IIT Kanpur. I am working on Path Profiling, i just
came with a need to know about the number of static paths in a
program(actually in a function) before it's actually get run. As i saw in
PathProfiling.c file in llvm\runtime\libprofile they are just storing the
path information at run time and dynamically adding entries for the new
path. But i need to know the number of
