[Fwd: Re: Samba and oplocks]
Hi Volker Thanks for your quick answer. Now I upgraded samba to 3.0.32 but this didn't fix the problem. We have three other servers with freebsd and samba in our environment. I also compared the settings and the only difference I can find is that on this server with these problems is the acl support disabled because we had some problems with it. May this acl support have something to do

Windows access problems
Hello, I had the pleasure of installing a new Linux(RH8.0)/Samba(2.2.7a) server (as a PDC) at one of our locations this week. They previously were accessing a shared drive from a Win2k Pro. machine. The migration did not go very smooth. Most things have been resolved, but we have some strange issues that are still causing problems, which I was hoping someone out there would have some insight

Weird errors for shares since 4.12.0
Hi all, I am experiencing something similar to what Andreas described on march 9th. Since upgrade to samba-4.12.0, users can sometimes have errors on accessing shares. Errors can be different, most often NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION, but also "Invalid handle". Just restarting smbd fixes the issue, for a while. The server serves six shares: one or a few may be locked, the other are

Strange MS-Access Problems with Samba 2.2.1a
Hello, something strange happens sometimes with a MS access Database when trying to open it on a samba share. The database is destroyed and I think the problem is Samba cause in the database file you can find some log entries from samba. I got some tips from a german ng but I think it is better to publish it here cause might be a bug in samba 2.2.1a. I use samba 2.2.1a on Suse 7.3 and MS Office
